    Brake Master Cylinder?

Why no vacuum bleeder on a C3...Reason being??? RR LR RF LF is the sequence I've always used. Just tonight I went to Pep Boys, bought two, 8" hard brake lines and bent the lines to come out of the exit ports and curve back up and deep into the fill-chambers. Once again, it appears to be...

    Brake Master Cylinder?

Thanks for the feedback, Don. *Bench bleed new MS in the vice, it hand-pumped up hard then installed it on the car...started at right rear, then left rear, front right and then front left > went around to each caliper a few times until solid fluid was coming out. *Got in, started the car...

TH350 Pan Gasket And A Few Other Questions?

New Felpro composite gasket has been installed for a few days now (car still up on blocks/ramps). Had it running for a few moments...and sure enough and as research stated...the 'Accumulator Cover O-ring' is where it's weeping. Of course, to gain suitable access to this cover, the front Y-pipe...

TH350 Pan Gasket And A Few Other Questions?

So, while my car is (still) up on jack stands I dropped the leaky tranz pan...last trans service I used (cork/rubber) AC Delco but it has been weeping. Question #1 is there any other manufacture of filter/gasket that may be better than the AC Delco product? And should I again use sealant on...

    Got Bad News...

Both Trailing Arms are in...bout time! After giving this set-up some looking over it appears (to me) the TA bushing outer metal jacket is indeed designed to be pinched/held fast to the shim-pack and pocket. This would validate the torque numbers GM wants on that castle nut. The TA is NOT...

    Batwing Cover Bolts Torque ?

Figures...I search all over the net and after the fact, I now locate the torque specs and sequence for the batwing cover. Oh yea, I over torqued it alright! 1/2 way down the page... GrumpysPerformance.com • View topic - u-joint replacement info

    81 Auto/Tranny Output/Tail Seal?

New O-Ring, bushing and seal installed :thumb As mentioned prior, on a TH350 auto and because of the hump in the floor and the cross-member there is NOT enough clearance to fully remove the tail extension. However, if you need to replace the large O-ring there is enough room to unbolt the tail...

    81 Auto/Tranny Output/Tail Seal?

Nope, and as I suspected the tail extension will NOT clear the cross-member. However, it did come back enough to where I could wedge a piece of wood between the cars floor underside panel and the cone to lock it in place. Knocked the oil seal out... Be careful of the little speedo plastic drive...

    81 Auto/Tranny Output/Tail Seal?

Sure looks like a tight fit to get it out...I ain't messing with that cross member when it's up on jack stands!

    81 Auto/Tranny Output/Tail Seal?

Thanks for that, I believe I have the TH350 which appears to take the kit you listed! And by the size of that O-Ring, the tail shaft would be small enough to slip right past the cross-member :thumb

    81 Auto/Tranny Output/Tail Seal?

Anyone got a part number for a SKF seal...auto? Also, I'm guessing the output 'bushing' can't be replaced with the trany in the car...correct?

    Got Bad News...

I think I've got yet ANOTHER issue...I drove 90 miles to purchase Trailing arm bushing and also to have the retailer/shop press them in. I'm just noticing, on one side of both arms, the 'flair' is sticking out past the thick washer. As a result, the Trailing Arm shim won't be sitting on the...

    Wheel Bearing Grease Recommendations?

Just pulled my rear spindles out of the trailing Arms...not to debate the slip vs interference bearing-fit but, mine are 'slip-fit' and there is no evidence of any problems > bearings and races look GREAT! Onto grease...for the bearings 'prior service' I used 'Sta-Lube EP Hi-Temp black moly...

    Got Bad News...

Reman yokes & center shaft in... For the past two months, my way too small garage aka 'Hell'...notice the license plate. Diff going back up to it's home...yes, I took it out and back up myself. Diff in...'about time!' Observation...the front diff mount calls for 65 foot lbs of torque however...

    Batwing Cover Bolts Torque ?

Well, whatever it 'should' be...mine is now at 40 lbs torque on my cover. I found the iron diffs were 50lbs torque, but I didn't want to take it that high being its aluminum threads...and 40lbs may still be too much. Used a little blue-loctite too. Hopefully, the diff will be bolted back in...

    Got Bad News...

Too funny...and yes I know those posters all too well. During my youth I remember having a Matchbox Corvette car and telling myself I would one day own one. I never actually had Fara in the flesh but still had her many times...and I'm still keeping my hopes up for the Lambo lol
