Hi people, for sometime now the below problem has been happening. Sometimes, when the AC or Heater fan is switched-on, it'll 'stop working' dead like it blew the fuse...HOWEVER...when I craw under that SOB to pull the fuse it's fine ;shrug The simple act of 'removing/installing' the AC-fuse...

Health problems keep me down for a while. I was able to drive the car again for a few days since my prior post and it was ok 'after' the above battery-disconnect, but I just started it to go get a prescription and the SOB barely wants to idle again :mad No cel Thanks Peter...but I rebuilt it...

Update...carb was rebuilt (by me) engine was idling/running smooth then for whatever reason (today) it's back to a rough idle again. :hb Coming down from upper RPM it will hover a 700rpm, then drop to maybe 500rpm and be rough and miss. Also, nasty strong exhaust smell, 'not' like gas from...

10 very local w/a lot of stopping/starting...hwy little better then 15. No doubt at hwy speeds the trany lock-up isn't working > rumor has it they die at some 50,000 miles. I fully rebult my computer carb, runs/idles much better...but, when it's hot out it still has a 'ping' at times.

Just curious what you 81 owners are getting for fuel mileage...automatic trany, local stop/go and hwy cruising? Reg or premium gas?

Depending on quality of paint and finish $2,000 is a pretty good number. Around me shops want close to 5K for a Vette, and that's straightening out the factory crap body gaps and seams...glass smooth Glasurit paint.
