    Insurance Questions

Fellow C3 owners, just asking who you insure with and how you have your precious Corvette insured. Basic Liability, no comp collision, comprehensive? Do you have it appraised for a 'agreed replacement value' and with who? Because, even though my 1981 has FULL coverage through Travelers 'if' it...

    Focking Purolator Bean-Counters!

Been a Purolator user for decades...until now...SOB's took the usual #L10028 (used on my Corvette) and shortened it to a short-stubby filter #L15313 So, being pissed, I call a Purolator rep, of course he's trying to tell me "it's shorter but improved!" I tell him "bullshit, you made it smaller...

    1981 AC/Fuse Question?

This I know...unless my 'fuse' acts-up > :hb :D Peter, I have tried other fuses...I'm thinking a bad connection between the two fuse-block halves or maybe behind the firewall side going in. Thanks for the suggestions, fellas :thumb

    1981 AC/Fuse Question?

    1) rotating the ignition switch as not been able to get the 'fan' working...as posted prior, I have to remove the 'fuse' and reinstall it. 2) the problem lies in the 'fan/fuse' and it's operation...AC is cold! You know when you turn the key to "on" and the 'fan' gently operates...well...when...

    1981 AC/Fuse Question?

Thanks, Bill...I can't say the fuse is loose but, I'm thinking the connection behind it (whatever that may be) is or could be. Once a warmer day hits I'll pull the driverside seat (for more access) and see if the fuse-box is a male/female design that can be separated...hope I don't fu*k...

    1981 AC/Fuse Question?

Andie, I thank you for the reply. I somewhat thought along the same as you but, wasn't sure 'if' there was a 'circuit breaker' for that AC/Htr Fan somewhere too? Question...would you know...is my fuse block a large male/female plug that can be unbolted and pulled away to inspect behind it? Or...

    1981 AC/Fuse Question?

Hi people, for sometime now the below problem has been happening. Sometimes, when the AC or Heater fan is switched-on, it'll 'stop working' dead like it blew the fuse...HOWEVER...when I craw under that SOB to pull the fuse it's fine ;shrug The simple act of 'removing/installing' the AC-fuse...

    E4ME...2 Questions

Update...carb was rebuilt (by me) engine was idling/running smooth then for whatever reason (today) it's back to a rough idle again. :hb Coming down from upper RPM it will hover a 700rpm, then drop to maybe 500rpm and be rough and miss. Also, nasty strong exhaust smell, 'not' like gas from...

MPG What Are You Getting In Your 81???

10 very local w/a lot of stopping/starting...hwy little better then 15. No doubt at hwy speeds the trany lock-up isn't working > rumor has it they die at some 50,000 miles. I fully rebult my computer carb, runs/idles much better...but, when it's hot out it still has a 'ping' at times.

Wanted to share fresh paint photo's.

Depending on quality of paint and finish $2,000 is a pretty good number. Around me shops want close to 5K for a Vette, and that's straightening out the factory crap body gaps and seams...glass smooth Glasurit paint.
