Exactly. I had a bad experience with a Chevy Dealership in the past before I knew better. I do all the repairs, maintenance, mods, and everything else myself.
I disconnected the 2 coolant hoses at the Throttle Body and I ran a longer hose directly from the intake manifold to the coolant line on the passanger's side that feeds the heater core. Good luck
Here's why. My friends carpet looked good. But it has not been that long since he did it. Hearing the above posts, others have done it and it lasts for some time, then fades or rubs off. I think I would be more convinced if my friends carpet had been dyed for a few years now and still looked...
Ok. I saw the carpet on his 85 today. If he had not told me that he dyed it, I would have never known it. In my eyes he seemed to have done a good job. I was impressed. I'm looking to change my faded gray carpet to dark black. But yeah, I agree with you on giving it a try. If the color change...

I agree. I replaced the head gaskets on my 86 myself. If you are going to do this yourself, make sure you label ALL sensor connectors and keep bolts and nuts in plastic zip lock bags labled.
I would also suggest that you toss your old head bolts and go with a fresh set of head bolts...
I agree. I installed long tubes when I lived in North Carolina. When I moved back to Cal, it would fail the visual inspection. Even though it passed the tailpipe part of it. My only solutions was to temporarily swap them back to stock.
:CAC I just went through the same thing the other day with my 86 Automatic. I scanned my vette with my Auto X Ray scannner and got "transmission shift fault." Then I grounded the two upper right hand terminals of the under dash connector. It flashed me a CODE 36.
I then cleared the CODE 36 ...
I had a plastic grocery bag get caught under my vette and stuck on the header. It melted and made a mess. I avoid plastic bags on the road now and if I HAVE to go over it, I make sure I see it in the rear view mirror. The screen in front of the radiator is a good idea IMHO.:D
