    Grounding strap location?

The dist shroud end should have a wing nut. Not sure about 81 but on 78/79s the other end of the strap goes to the upper, rear valve cover bolt.

    Air snorkel ducting

The flexible ducts are still available from GM, any dealer parts place should be able to order them for you. The new ones are a bit more durable vinyl but fine if you're not going for judging. About $30 each list price but that depends on your parts man. part no 368684 and 472712. GMPartsDirect...

    1982 hood lamp

This is a 79, I'm pretty sure it's basically the same as 82 except it's single wire. Later had a seperate ground wire. Anyway, the switch is the little cylinder by the C clip. A mercury switch.

Per request, here's what I have..... 1. SOLD...The AM/FM/CB mentioned in my other thread. 2. SOLD......NOS 79-82 AM/FM Slimline. Dated 86.This is NOT the 'GM service replacement' often sold as correct for these years. I THINK it may actually be correct for 81/82. Black housing, not beige...

    Help! Thermastat Housing Bolts Removal

I agree. In wet conditions, you say you have a leak, the steel bolt has a tendency to seize to the aluminum. In your case the thermostat housing. You may have no choice but to snap the heads off the bolts and then try breaking the "weld" between the bolt and the housing by prying the housing up...

    Differential fill plug

Why not pick up a 5/8" 8 point socket? Always seemed like the best tool for the job to me. Sears has it.

1980 with 6028 original (?) miles on eBay

It's possible, 6K miles. A lot depends on how well it was maintained/stored for 30 years. Both my 78s have fewer miles and under my hoods are not perfect. Spotlessly clean but a lot of parts were not painted well by the factory and many parts are bare metal and subject to corrosion. Of course...

    Help! Rocker Panels

80-82 rocker panels are about 1" shorter than the 70-79 rocker panels. The earlier ones may project into the front wheel opening a bit possibly causing some front tire clearance issues.

    Question: C3 glove box question??????

Are there any small holes in the top and bottom of the box that the dividers were snapped into. I removed mine to make the box more usable. Never use the radio, much less carry around any tapes.... OR Are you sure it's FACTORY cassette? My black79 came from the factory with 8track, dealer...

    Air Cleaner Lid Modification

I remember my 71 Nova. Took the stock air cleaner and cut both the top and bottom along the circle that the filter element went to. Sounded great. Too cheap to just buy one back then! I also was one of those guys to flip the lid upside down on my 69 GTO. Neither car had any factory cold air...

    Question: C3 glove box question??????

The slots were for either 8tracks or cassettes(sideways)and only there if the Vette was originally equipted with either radio. AM/FM or AM/FM/CB didn't get the slots, not even the mounting holes for them(actually 2 different glove boxes, holes for slots and no holes).
