    Gas tank fuel bladder

Having just put one of these liner-less replacement tanks in one of mine I'm curious, too. Tried to repair some minor pinholes but with the liner in it you really can't do much with it. My ASSUMPTION is it's a safety thing. But I figure a tank without a liner is safer than a tank with a leak!

    radio removal, HELP

That's all there is. Just mounted with the control shaft nuts at the bezel and ONE support on the pass side.

    radio removal, HELP

Did you remove the "nuts" on the radio control shafts? They are usually not typical hex nuts but round nuts with slots in them. A pair of long nose pliers will work to unscrew them.

    fuel sending unit help

78-82 all use the same tank so the 78-81 sending unit will bolt right in.

    1981 Electric Window problem

Had the same problem with the driver side when I got my 12K mile white 79. I simply cleaned the switch. They're pretty low tech, simply copper leaves that contact one another when you move the lever. They get burn marks over the years. Remove the switch and clamp it in a vise. With a hammer and...

    Question: 1978 Where is the

If you're looking for the wiper delay module it's under the radio in 78/79s, not in the jack compartment. I guess that's a relay, but they are no longer available new.

    Question: 1978 Where is the

I believe the only relay is the 'park' relay and that's within the wiper motor.

    Power Antenna Question

If it's a factory antenna, there are two wires that power it. An orange that is constant hot and a yellow that triggers it. Apply power to the yellow. The relay is under the center arm rest all the way to the back, but you may find the yellow up near the radio if the previous owner just left it...

    Random wires come unplugged!?!

Toss that Chiltons out and get the 79 Corvette Shop Manual. That's the one with the red cover. See em on ebay all the time, or the vendors sell them too.

    Random wires come unplugged!?!

OK, crammed my head up under TWO dashs. That green/green/blue connector hangs loose in my white79 also. This is a pretty much untouched 12K mile original Vette so I don't figure anyone has messed with it. Everything works as it should. I can't seem to locate it in my black79, which makes me...

    Random wires come unplugged!?!

I can see the empty lug at the bottom of the buzzer in your pic. Didn't have a chance today to look for those other wires. Will try to get my big head up under the dash tomorrow.

    Random wires come unplugged!?!

The green and ORANGE wire connector goes to the buzzer attached to the right side of the fuse box. Do any of you buzzers work? Keys in ign, lights on, seat belt? I'll take a look and see if I can trace the green/blue.

Question: Carpet color..can't find mahogony as per VIN

Saffron, Mahogany. Same thing. Some vendors list it one way, others the other way.

    78 Power Antenna

Can you hear the motor run? The most common problem with them is the mast getting stuck, which is caused by the nylon leader breaking. That's what raises and lowers it. That's why I replace it even in a NOS antenna. How many miles on the Vette? Is the antenna in good shape visually? It's really...

    78 Power Antenna

Do you currently have an original but non working unit? They can be repaired. I DO have 2 78-early79 antennas. A NOS unit in the box and a used but nice working one originally out of a Cadillac(protected trunk mounted) but now bracketed for a Corvette. Used one shows slight wear on the chrome...

    1981 ANTENNA MODEL NUMBER

Ron, that no. is for the aluminum housing 78-early79 antenna. With the mounting brackets it could be made to work for an 81 but the fender bezel is all wrong and won't look right. Plus you'd have to come up with the brackets. It doesn't have the chrome bezel at the fender that attaches the...

    1981 ANTENNA MODEL NUMBER

Late79-82. Std. Slimline AM/FM "OEM No. Stamped on Assy", 5044954. "Package Service No", 22048608. If it's not one of those, post it and I'll see if I have a listing of what it's for.

    tires sizes

They MAY or MAY NOT fit your 79. Yes, the 255s were an option in 79 but the factory did some trimming on the 78s and 79s to allow full clearance when turning. Rims were the same. Look at your front openings and see if they are even around the entire opening. The trimming was crudely done with a...

    Glove Box Question

The cassettes should fit sideways. My white 79 that originally came with AM/FM/CB doesn't even have the holes in the glovebox for the dividers to snap into. Took the dividers out of the black 79 so I could actually put something in there.
