I have the 2 piece March system sold by TPIS. They do not include a belt, but tell you what to get with options of manufacturers. I also have the TPIS catback vetteboy (not trying to hijack), and my stock 85 (EM longtubes, magnaflow cat., stock head/cam) sounds a little too boaty for my liking...

When you re-install the tube runners, make sure you fit the lower runner to manifold bolts first, leave them loose, then attach the plenum, then tighten the runner to manifold bolts.

rel3rd, is your o2 sensor heated? If not, with the headers, therein lies the code 13 - happened to me with my 85 when I put headers on.

I lubed my o-rings with clean motor oil - just a slight coating so that they turn freely, which they still do (had to fix a manifold leak this month).

I've got 6K on my 85 with the accel 24s, no problems with mine either.

I'm with urleycay - I have to redo the intake manifold because I didn't use the right stuff, and it is leaking. Also, permatex makes an aerosol gasket remover which will probably help

I think he has it mounted already, but just for option purposes, mine is under the driver's side headlight, wires run along fender well.

Castrol high mileage did reduce my first start puff (and oil leak amounts) as compared to synthetic (mobil 1) - but it's only a bandaid, seals gotta be replaced.

Man, no lie vettefan 87 - my buddy has a 97 saleen mustang with 11K that puffs WORSE than my vette. I told him that is gonna be his first repair when he comes to acknowledge it......he is in total denial.

62K on my 85, and same thing. Castrol high mileage dino oil helped quell the puff to a mild exhale, and only on initial start up of the day. It says it reconditons seals, which I didn't believe but thought I would try, and I concur with them. It reconditioned them enough for it to be barely...

When my 85 showed similar symptoms the antenna motor evetually got stuck running in the up position. I pulled the fuse so it is up with no motor running, but no power locks now - the corvette central upgrade kit is one of my winter projects.

Your ECM will read the values of the TPS & MAF at WOT, so it's something you probably shouldn't mess with. You can get the stocker rebuilt & bored to 52mm which may be more cost effective than a new unit.

Keisler makes a 5 speed that bolts in.

I'd go with a 3" for the L98. On other vette forums I've read threads where the B&B has resonance issues - so it must be loud too. I have a magnaflow high flow cat with the TPIS catback. I think magnaflow would be a more aggressive sounding system than the B&B

I can understand his hesitation - it's not leaking, you swap with a new one, and then another seal (front main, for ex.) becomes weakened, and she's off the road again. However, the other side of the coin in regard to preventative/restorative maintenance.................I'd have him do it.
