I would be interested in seeing the complete article. I have a lot of interest in any mid-years with big tanks.
Having owned one of the few Canadian dealer delivered big tank cars some years ago.
Be aware that the tank assy was available over the counter from GM parts dep't in those years...
Bob / Norval,
Roadtrip for sure!
We don't need no stinkin' tour bus......we got vettes;LOL
All kidding aside Norval, we would love to visit a shop like yours.
Take care,
Brian
Norval,
I truly enjoy (as I am sure others do too) the posts you make about all the interesting changes you make to your car. There is lots of good info in your posts.
I am very much a "do it myself" kinda guy too. Just not on the engineering level that you are, so I can live vicariously...
I like the idea of painting the underbody of the car the same orange as the exterior.
Your idea of some contrast with the semi gloss black frame and all gloss black attaching parts such as control arms, will look great.
If you do the trans in natural / alum and the diff and half shafts in...
Strangely enough, I have owned 2 '61 cars and neither had a warped trunk lid issue. One was back in '68 and it had never been hit.
Also, as the '61/ '62 cars were my passion earlier in life, I looked at lots of them in the late '60s and don't remember the trunk warpage being an issue.
Just my...
Tom,
That is great that the IHRA will let you run with a removable side "X" member. That will make everyday life easier.
I think the converted injector setup to EFI is the best idea. I would love to know how this all plays out with BDS as time goes on.
Blower motors are great for the...
Hi Tom,
I am like all vettes and have a soft spot for drag cars. I cannot wait to see your creation:D
Are you going to install a full cage in the car?
Take care,
Brian
Hi Colin,
Congrats! It looks fantastic.:D
You must be so thrilled to have it home and looking so perfect.
Nothing like the cool lines of a split window coupe to make your heart race.
Thanks for sharing your excitement with us all:w
Take care,
Brian
Tom,
Thanks for the gracious invitation to visit your shop. We would love to see it, whenever it is convenient for you. The size and or calibre of the shop has nothing to do with anything, they all have an aura of the corvette mystique.
We can rell by the pics that you have provided, that...
Absolutely:D
How about it Tom....want some visitors to come and meet you and look at your cool ride?
Bob and I would love to burn some gas going north for a while
Take care,
Brian
Hi Tom,
Are you using the original front fiberglass that came on the car or is it a replacement one piece or press molded replacement?
What is the basic condition of the 'glass?
How often do you plan to have the front wheels off the ground;) Will you be seriously campaigning this car...
Hi Craig,
Colin is 100% right. The frames were measured at the factory against a "zero" tolerance for a body fit. The shim markings were then indicated on thee frame to ensure a level fit to the body. This was to fit the frames, which had production tolerance variables, to the designed...
Yeah, Kevin is a wild man!
Seems to me he drove that chassis into Bloomington (or some other meet) after unloading it from a nearby trailer. Isn't that the "Bounty Hunter" before the body went back on?
Too cool,
Brian
