    LS1 Engine to Mid Year

You might want to give Paul Newman's Car Creations in CA a call; their pricelist for LS1 modifications is here: http://www.carcreationsinc.com/html_2/63price.html Here's a website that may give you some ideas on installing the T56: http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/gwhite75/index.htm

    66 exhaust question

Glassman, the first bracket I referenced in my early post looks to me like it attaches under the front header port bolts, then the stock "U" channel alternator bracket bolts to it, with some adjustment capability to align the alternator with the pulley. He also could possibly use one of the...

    66 exhaust question

    Here's a bracket I found with a quick Google web search: http://www.proformparts.com/catalog/alternators.html ... #66661 This one may be a possibility too: http://www.sandersonheaders.com/chvyaltbracket.htm

What rear end do I have?

    Given: Stock 205/75x15 tire gets 744 tire revs/mile 2900rpm @ 70mph transmission is 1:1 ratio in high gear calculations: 744 tire revs/mile x 70miles/hour x hour/60 min = 868 tire revs/minute @ 2900 engine revs/minute 2900 engine revs/min divided by 868 tire revs/minute = 3.34 axle ratio

    Really BAD morning!

I really CAN feel your pain! Some years back I had just purchased a very nice 63 split window w/powerglide. Had it only a day when I became first in line (on a curved merge approach to a major highway) at a "yield" sign, with my brakelights on, waiting for a chance to scoot into heavy traffic...

    C2 carb question

I'm with 65 Sting: rebuild the Holley, they work fine when properly set up... no expense for purchasing a BB hood and repainting it, you already have an air cleaner, and you can sell the Edelbrock to recover some of the rebuild cost. They're not hard to rebuild yourself, or try: Bob Kunz...

LT1 Cam - Lash Adjustment w/1.6 Roller Rockers

6T5RUSH, I guess a larger lash setting is the proper conclusion using JohnZ's reasoning. He assumed GM calculated for a 1.5 ratio, and he reduced the setting 0.0025 because he measured a smaller rocker ratio than GM intended. I calculate 0.032 lash for exhausts if I assume original ratios are...

LT1 Cam - Lash Adjustment w/1.6 Roller Rockers

6T5RUSH... I'm not convinced you need to change those lash settings. Here's my reasoning: The lash setting is to reduce the tendency of the rocker to destroy itself or the end of the valve by slapping down too hard on the valve stem, minimize valve train noise, yet maintain enough clearance...

It does not match any other midyear color.

    C2 whiney rear end

Most differentials will whine a bit, usually worst at specific speeds. In the Corvette, you are sitting in pretty close proximity to the differential, so it is more noticeable. You ought to try riding in some other midyears to see if the noise is the same. The backlash setup of the differential...

Rebuilding Speedo - Where to buy internal gears?

I suspect everyone does. I've heard of it being done, and some vendors offer a 3-gear set for repairing odometers. Long Island Corvette, for instance. Trip odometer cables are prone to stick in the "in" position (generally after about 40k miles) and this eventually destroys those plastic...

    67 Big Brake....

Perhaps you mean J56 heavy-duty brakes? http://corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/l88/l88prod.html It would be on a big-block car with power brakes, and there are 2 devices below and slightly outboard of the master cylinder... one is a "distributor/safety switch" and is rectangular, the second is...

    Overheating all of a sudden

"Coolant to water"? Do you mean antifreeze to water? Read the antifreeze container and it'll give you the ratios for protection to prevent freezing to various low temperatures. 50/50 is probably fine, unless your area experiences extremely low temperatures and the car stays outdoors. I doubt...

No dash lights on my '65

Check the tail lights; dunno why, but I have it in my head that the dash lights fail if a tail light fails. I'll probably check the diagrams later and find I'm hallucinating.

    1963 Brake Question

No, he's looking for one that actually fits onto the adjustment cylinder (the adjuster slides into it such that the spring is wound around the adjuster).

    1963 Brake Question

Dunno where you can get one, but it's part number may be 5462023 (from my old parts manual)... maybe that'll help you in your search. Ask your Chevy dealer to check the GM database, perhaps that spring has other applications.
