A 94 LT1 vette benefits from 2 years of LT1 engine refinement and 10 years of chassis tweaking. My 92 was the first year of the LT1 and other than the Optispark (which they changed to a vented version in 94 that solved most of the no start problems) I have been very satisfied and have had no...
At the tail end of the drive shaft there are 2 "U" straps with two bolts each holding the universal joint to the differential shaft. Once removed the drive shaft will be free to drop. You may need to remove the support beam between the trans and differential/3rd member though. From reading...
IMHO I think your playing right into the dealers hand if you start out with $14K. I think you hit the nail on the head in your earlier post "Kelly Blue book says $9K" I don't think the dealer paid much more than 9K even if it was in excellent shape. However, don't let me or this forum tell...
Wow!!! With those mods you may be approaching 500HP. 450 HP for sure. For a daily driver you may want a separate bank account for buying new tires every other month, also for the speeding tickets. It's hard enough staying off the FUN peddle with a stock vette let alone one pushing that much...
$16K seems a bit high to me also. I paid less than that for my 92 coupe (LT1) 2 years ago. It's an automatic but the miles were close to what you have and it's 4 years newer. It's really hard to say what the dealer will take. Like the others have said, there's more than just that one vette...
Hmmm, The Memorex worked but the Maxell did not. I'm curious to know the difference between the two... I know the Maxell's have gold artwork on the top face but I doupt that has any affect on the readability of the CD-R.

Performed test on my 92 CD player with a CD-R and it worked just fine. Recorded the CD off of home pc with CD writer. Used Maxell CD-R Music 80 min (for audio recording). Actually was very good reproduction. 10 year old Bose Gold series and still sounds great.
jmccloud should be correct. When creating a CD from your computer, most CD authoring software will have the option so that all CD players can read the disc. I have not done this yet with my CD player in the 92 vette but I will confirm today.
Cemmega: I hope your not thinking we're trying to tell you what to do with all our comments. It's always better to get as much info before making a decission, and I think your making the right one. Now for your question on replacing 3rd gear only. Find a reputable/trustworthy transmission...
Hi cemmega, thought I would put in my 02 cents worth on your tranny delema. I'd get the TH350 rebuilt with a shift kit etc. and put back in your vette. It should last if you have close to stock power from the engine. This will cost beween $500-$750 if you pull the tranny yourself, and it...
For all you unmodified LT1's with around 245-250 rwhp, have you taken your cars to the track? What speeds and times were you able to acheive. I'm trying to get baseline for unmodified performance. Car and Driver says 13.6 @ 103 mph. (6 speed) how close are the rest of you to these stats...
Chuck. I think in 1994 -96 all vette's came with the 8.5 inch front wheel size except for the Z51 optioned vehicles which had 9.5 inch rims on all four corners. (not including ZR1, and obviously the LT-4). The change to 8.5 inch fronts was to mimic the ZR-1 profile or characteristics with its...
I know this may sound strange but check the oil level on the dip stick. Once in a great while they will forget to drain the old oil and pump in 5 qts of new. I know this sounds crazy but this did happen to a friend (not a vette) a while ago and the car ran Ok at first then began to miss fire...
UB 2 Slow: I know you have the LT4 Heads, intake, and I think the hot cam and headers and I'm sure a reprogrammed chip. Of all the mods which was the biggest bang for the Buck?
I'm pretty sure that Aluminum heads have the bolts going through the center of the valve covers. Iron heads have the traditional 2 on top and 2 on bottom bolt pattern on the valve covers. I want someone else to chime in and verify this to be sure...
I'll chime in and throw in some food for thought. I have a 92 coupe with the LT1. I've had it for 2 years but it still shows only 56K. I think the price of the early LT1's are extreamely reasonable at this time even those with low miles. For the price range you have mentioned there is a lot...
"Adjust the valves with the engine warm and running instead of the "static" adjustment procedure."
This will get messy very quickly if you adjust more than one Rocker. To avoid hot oil running down the side of the engine try going to the junk yard and picking up a valve cover from an old...
Depends on what you mean by pure... Looking back at the "Old" Camaro and Firebird they looked similar but not one body panel could be interchanged. The engines were different too (until the mid 70's). I think they used the same tranny and diff and maybe the breaks but many Purists would say...
Saw the LT4 dyno numbers thread and thought I would ask what the LT1 dyno numbers are. I know I have 300 HP at the crank but through the auto transmission and drive line etc. I'm guessing 250-260 RWHP and 270-280 tq.
