I agree with your anaylgy on the transmission :L You will truly enjoy the GS. I have an 08 Z51, 3lt. The LS3 is a screamer especially with the NPP, the chrome wheels really finish it off. I'm in Bowling Green everyday, love driving em, and enjoy seeing them out and about everday of the year...

Why do you want to get rid of your transparent roof? You can have the best of both worlds. You can have a see through roof or use a headliner and get the cover from the heat and sun. Check out the headliner in the link. I bought one, it looks good and keeps things cooler in the summer. C6...
