    Short Video of my 1980

Sounds good, the video came out pretty well. What exhaust are you running?

    Question: Roots style supercharger

A "roots" style supercharger won't fit under the hood. Not by a long shot. You're likely going to have to run a centrifugal supercharger, and if you look around you'll probably find kit's that will accomplish what your looking for. I'd suggest you make sure the engine is in really good...

    March Performance serpentine conversion kits

Thanks, I used parts off an early 90's V6 S-10 pick up. You can use just about any small block set up, but some have the AC compressor and alt. switched. I used truck parts becuase they don't have the mounting for an AIR pump making this a cleaner set up in my opinion. I used the small block...

    Oil Pressure Gauge is Pegged

Sounds like a grounding problem. Is the engine doing anything that would give you an indication somethings wrong? I can't think of anything in the oiliing system that would cause pressure to be that high all the time. There's a bypass for a clogged filter, a bypass in the oil pump, and in the...

top end replacement or repaint first

I'd do the work under the hood first. Imagine if you had a great paint job and while working under the hood you scratched or nicked the new paint...

need to know alloy that 69 combo swtch/brake proportioning vlve made of

Dude, They're brass, which is typically 67% copper and 33% zinc. Other metals are sometimes added including lead to make brass more workable by machine. Tin, arsenic, and antimony are sometimes added to resist corrosion, and iron can be added to make the brass harder and easier to forge. So...

    March Performance serpentine conversion kits

Why not go with a later model factory set up? You can have the few parts powder coated if need to and still be $$$$ ahead and parts are very easy to get. Plus you get all the benefits of a serpentine system.

    March Performance serpentine conversion kits

I did a serpentine conversion on the big block I put in my car. After doing similar research and finding how expesnive products like March are. Mine certainly doesn't have the same "bling" effect, but it works really well, the belt is dead straight and I can get parts for it anywhere.

Question: No heat from front defrost on "81

A quick fix? Maybe. If it's as simple as the vacuum line off the actuator. These systems are vacuum operated and usually it takes more that a quick fix, but you might get lucky. I suspect you have one of two issues, vacuum or a failed part. You could have a disconnected or broken vacuum...

    1981 corvette upgrades

You can always do your mods in phases. Start with the exhaust (whatever they'll let you go to) and plan for a better cam/heads combination. I don't think you'll be able to really gain all the benefits of a cam swap without doing the heads too. You can bump the compression a bit with the right...

    81 project

Thanks Kane, I hope to be working the hood later this week. Even though I'm in Florida, it's actually been cold for almost two weeks, in the low 20's and teens!!! I know for those in the "Great White North" that's not cold, and it's not that bad, but it is too cold for fiberglass work, and my...

    81 project

The issue with my hood is that it's a bit to long on the passenger side, about 1/2", and a bit to low for about the last 6 or 8 inches. The rest of that side fits well. The drivers side is about 1/4" to long, but fits well otherwise. The gaps are the same down both sides and across the front...

    Question: L81 horsepower

You have all kinds of options. I suggest you start with what you want from the car. Daily driver, street/strip, pro-touring, long trips, fuel economy etc.. That's where you start, then work back from there. You can do some modifications to the current engine, pull it for a new crate engine...

Put dual electric fans on it and you won't have any problems. Dewitts has a great set up for this. Make sure your engine and fan thermostats work together (temps)!

    4L80 six speeds ?

I think they're worth it, that's why I put one in. The gearing is spaced really well (about the same as the 350) and you get the overdrive which is a real help at highway speeds. When some of our cars where built the speed limit was 55 and the TH350 was fine for cruising at those speeds. But...

What hanger and secondary and rods should I use?

Sounds like you're well on your way! I agree with Sensei, you can try the Edlebrock rods, Edlebrock actually makes a tunning kit for these carbs (actually for the Edlebrock replacement, but the parts work!) that has several sets of rods and other parts. I've used Cliff Ruggles book and spent...

    4L80 six speeds ?

I don't know about swaps with the 4L80E, I haven't seen any. I think on reason is, it does require a computer to function properly and those aren't cheap. They seem to range from about $750 to around $1100. Of course that's on top of the trans and torque converter cost. Plus the controller...

    81 project

I think you'll find the 4 speed trans could use a fifth gear. Remember, when these cars were built speed limits were 55. It should hold up behind the big block unless you're building a real monster engine! If you're going much over stock, you might want to consider a scatter shield. You...

What hanger and secondary and rods should I use?

If your in stock trim, I don't think there's going to be anything to be gained. What problem are you trying to solve?
