Update #2 This I find kind of amusing; First off, I did get my $22 eBay Code Reader. Had it to my door in 3 days...dayum. Ok, this may be a 1st, at least it is for me, I'm drivin' to work today and bingo...SES light on. So while still doing 70, I reach back into the storage compartment behind...

    Tire question

Adam, If it were me, I'd replace them. Keep in mind that this advice is coming from a guy who is not happy unless he's consistently dumping money into his car...much to my wife's chagrin. :L As long as you can trust them not to hard-sell ya', I'd maybe run it by a reputable tire shop and...

    at the car wash........

I'm also a night-washer or basically I try & wash pre or post sun - a la dusk or dawn. Washing a black car in the sun is a pita. If & when I take my Vette to a full-service car wash, I always pay for the hand wash. They usually do a pretty good job but it'll cost ya'. In fact, when I do go there...

My lady presented me with a tempting deal! AHHH

Jeep vs Vette....two different animals. If you plan on your driving enjoyment being done off-road then the Jeep is the way to go BUT if it is to be done on mostly paved roads, DUDE KEEP THE VETTE! My .02 has spoken. ;)

For you guys and gals in hot weather...

I agree as well... I've had one on my targa only LT4 for over 2 years...and that's here in Phx. It has worked so well that I've more or less given up on the thought of getting the solid top. Need to get the hatch vent though.

Looking for "oompf" my vette surely had once

I hear ya'...me too. And, that is one of the spookiest I've ever seen. Kinda looks like one of those worms in the "Tremors" movies. :L

    LT4 LT4 Hot Cam ??

No "chip" to burn on a '96 - pcm must be re-tuned. A hotcammed car can be driven w/ the stock tune (and will run well) but to get the most out of the HC, a re-tune is the way to go. A common code to see on a hotcammed/untuned car is the PO300 (Random Misfire Code).

Hey Glen, There are readers for OBD 1 & 2 but I don't believe that one will work for both, at least not an inexpensive one. Here's a link to some cheap readers for OBD 1: http://www.autobarn.net/autxrayezsca.html Also, go to Alpha Bids ebay and to "ask seller a question" and I'm sure that...

    Somebody Hold Me Back!

The ZO6 only comes in a 6spd. and is more car than you'll ever need. I think the base C6 would be a great car for you...and her. They are even available now w/ the paddle shift automatic. Realistically, a much more refined and reliable car (than the C4) that you both can enjoy. If it's do-able...

You may want to pm Llano Bill (above) as it appears he had the same code.

    Service Engine Soon light

Update: I just ordered one of these off ebay for $22.00. The price is unbeatable for what it does - which is basically; giving you a code to reference and allowing you to clear the code. OBD2 Code Reader

Have Autozone read & clear the code, then see if it pops up again.

Picks of the new shift boot.

Adam, As much as I like it, my current boot is pristine. Plus I have a black Hurst knob w/ white lettering so it looks good as is. Haven't been back to the dyno yet but another guy (friend) w/ a modded LT1 (who also had low #'s on dyno day) went to another dyno and got 12 more rwhp so I'm sure...
