    Viper Sound

Bullwinkle: The Viper guys are okay at the wave, but nothing like the old timer Vette folks (I don't put C5 drivers in the same category). I personally have plenty of down to Earth Viper friends, but there are quite a few "poser" types out there who have no clue what their engine looks like or...

    Car and Drivers Take

Looks pretty ugly to me. I hope that Lutz doesn't let that one slip through the cracks, because I expect far greater things from him than this. Now that design would make an ugly SRT-10 Viper look like a viable alternative again. I hope that the GT-40 comes out intact. Brad

    Ken's Engine Project...

Congrats Ken; I guess I'll be seeing you at Ruby's tomorrow night. What break-in procedure are you following. I would strongly recommend that you go very easy for the first 1,000 miles. There will be plenty of fun after the break-in is done. Brad

50th Anniversary Pictures and Information Unveiled

I'm a little disappointed in the 50th. The paint doesn't grab me in any way. I guess it could be worse. I expected more with Lutz at the helm. I sure hope that they do better with the C6. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Brad

    waterpump

You should try looking at an electric water pump. They are less stressful on the engine and you'll probably gain some HP. JMO. Brad

    335/35ZR17 on a 11" wheel?

John: I know that Michelin makes a 345 on the Pilot Sports, but they are just too hard a compound for me. I really like the break-away characteristics of the MXX3's (for street and the road course). Kumho also makeas a DOT legal racing tire called the V.700 Ecsta. They call the tire a 335...

    335/35ZR17 on a 11" wheel?

I have them on my Viper on 13" wide rims. I think that the 335's are too narrow for a 13" rim. When you lay the Wheel flat on the ground, the rim touches (instead of the tire curvature). The shape and profile will make a difference on how it fits in your wheel well. I wish that someone made...

    Turbo Upgrade on an 87

:eyerole Oh well... sorry that I misunderstood. Try finding a comparable Garrett turbo to swap. Do the newer Callaways have bigger intercoolers? Just out of curiosity, what internal upgrades does Callaway perform on their conversions? Do they give you the details of this and the specs when...

    Turbo Upgrade on an 87

I would say more difficult than you realize if you want to do it correctly. Like any forced induction system, it is highly recommended that you drop compression on your car (and make sure that you have forged pistons), and go with a milder cam (than you would with a normally aspirated engine)...

Where can I find some leather dressing/cleaner...

If your seats are OE, then you should save your money. OE leather used in cars is coated in plastic (I believe it has something to do with flame retardants and stain resistance). My friend is a custom upholsterer (who until he died a couple of months ago did extensive work for Recaro, Lexus...

Does anybody know of any CA legal headers? Ken?

Check out Edelbrock and Borla. They traditionally have the money necessary to do this certification. Their headers for Vipers are CARB certified (at least I know that Edelbrock's are for sure). Brad

Aluminum Radiators For My '85 C4

Jeff: Are there many modifications that need tobe done in order to put these in? I just saw the Be Cool site and it noted some modifications. Where is the best place to buy these radiators? Thanks again, Brad

Aluminum Radiators For My '85 C4

Hi Friends: I am tired of replacing the stock radiator with plastic tanks on my '85 C4. Can you please give me some feedback on the best Aluminum radiators? Was it much of a challenge to install(were modifications necessary)? Where did you get the best prices for them? Thanks all for your...

New to the Southern California Corvette Scene..

We are going to try to do this several times this year (as an excuse to get away and spend time with other gear heads). The route on the way back is through the hills in Santa Barbara. I heard that it was anice run, but I did not think that my 3 year old son could take the beating. I hope...
