    Sat in a C7

I haven't had the opportunity to sit in a C7 or C8 yet but a friend has a C6 with a 6 speed that I dearly love. His neighbor has a C7 with a 7 speed so I haven't given up yet. Tom

    what happened to everyone

I keep hoping that enough people will tire of the FB crap and come back here or find us anew that we get that good solid small group that we had in the start. Those were some fun times. Tom

Correct shift points (RPM) on ‘82 700R-4

I'm not having any luck finding that info either. You are probably going to have to get a GM service manual although a good transmission shop should be able to tell you where they should shift.

    Perplexed 65 "300"hp owner

Do you have anything plugged into the lighter receptacle? Lighter element stuck in? Does your battery voltage drop overnight? Brake lights stuck on? Something is drawing on the system that is hot in ignition off position. Theft alarm system shorting? Disconnect a battery cable and test across...

    Question: Replacing the alternator

That's great news. Ended up being a cheap fix too. Tom

    Question: Replacing the alternator

I hope so. I'm not all that familiar with what kind of odd things happen when internal components go bad. I just emailed the antenna diagnosis flow charts to you.

    Question: Replacing the alternator

I checked across the 2 plug terminals on the 81 both ways, engine off, and got zero volts. I think this is your battery drain and what is showing up on the battery light being on when it shouldn't be. This is probably the result of the alternator having a bad rectifier and possibly a bad...

    Question: Replacing the alternator

I have been looking at your chart and thinking about this. Your heater blower should not run unless the ignition is on. It should come on with the ignition on as part of the ventilation system. You don't have the option to turn it off completely. The battery light should come on full bright...

    Question: Replacing the alternator

That sounds more like an ignition switch problem. With the ignition switch off you should only have power to the stop lamps, hazard lights, radio memory, lighter and clock. Power will also be available to the interior lights when you open the door, headlights if you turn them on with the light...

    Question: Replacing the alternator

The 2-pronged plug on the top that is unplugged in your photo is the regulator. Easy to replace but can't be bench tested without using a regulator tester. The diode trio mounts to the rectifier (heat sink) on 3 studs to the bottom and one connector that goes up to a stud on the regulator. It...

Decoding 1965 Corvette Coupe Original Specs

Sharp interior. Many moons ago a good friend had a 1965 Coupe, silver with silver leather, Fuel Injection, knockoff wheels and side pipes. He fell asleep coming home from work one morning and hit a bridge abutment on the interstate. He didn't get hurt much but the car burned to the ground.

Decoding 1965 Corvette Coupe Original Specs

Sharp looking 64 Tom. I like the flares. My 67 coupe had cut rear wheel wells but it wasn't silver. Tom

    Spare tire

Yes. Most years of 63 to 82 Corvettes had a full-size spare. Measure the depth of the carrier and compare it to the width of your tires. A 225/70 should go in there. You could check the salvage yard for a 15 inch GM wheel (5 by 4.75 bolt pattern with an identical center hole size to your car...

    C-1 Brakes

Sounds like you will be fine with that. I don't know what pad compound you have on your car but you might try a new carbon ceramic to see how that feels. Tom
