c4 calipers for "big brakes" ?

Hi ,Hib.... Thanks for that lightning quick response , mate ! As for the 4-pots ,I don't wish to fit 'em if they are a departure from stock , it's just that I can see there at least 2 pistons by squinting thru' the wheels , I did'nt know if the pistons were single-acting or opposed . I have...

c4 calipers for "big brakes" ?

I have a '93 'vert . It has 13" discs , but I don't know which calipers are fitted . The guy who sold me the car did the switch , from 12" discs , but I don't think he changed the calipers , they are more than likely the originals . Is there any way to identify which caliper variant may be...

    front licence plate cover ?

Well , then....... I got a chance to try the plate cover this week . Needless to say ,it won't fit . It has to be really wailed into position , and then only goes part way home , at great risk of removing paint from the plate aperture . As for getting the supplied screws in ,they are WAY too...

    front licence plate cover ?

Apologies for apparently dropping the ball on this thread ,but........just got back from 'Vegas a few hours ago ,with my 'plate cover in tow . It appears I'll maybe need to drill 2 small holes for the screws at the bottom of the number plate , to access the screw holes left in the bumper for...

    front licence plate cover ?

I hear ya,Whale......! I think they call it "privatisation". They think no-one will notice/care .We already pay a "road tax" to use our pot-holed ,crumbling ,speedbump and traffic-calmed ,excessive one-way ,no-entry "roads" as it is . Currently $330 a year for the 'Vette ,$180 for my daily...

    front licence plate cover ?

As regards the constabulary......you likely won't be surprised they can get a bit "arsey" about regulation plates , lights, etc. The plate thing even more so nowadays , as revenue from enforcement cameras for all kinds of things is such a big earner .$$$$$$$. A lot of these cameras are automatic...

    front licence plate cover ?

I can't see any screws , maybe they are hidden by the large plates we have to have here , see Picture 2 of 3 from My 93 Bright Aqua convertible. may give some idea .I may just go and pull the plate to see if there's screws , seeing as it's very slightly spring-like out side . And about time ...

    front licence plate cover ?

Does anyone know how those clear , flush-fit front licence plate covers fit ? I reckon there's tabs to go into the slots present on the underside of the top lip of the plate recess ,but how's about at the bottom ? The reason I ask is ,I may fit one if it can co-exist with the compulsory front...

    heater/defrost fan won't stop blowing !

OOh yeah , weather...... After yesterdays extra-savage gales and sleet/heavy rain , today has been nice 'n' sunny , and temps hit a dizzying 66 degrees in old money . So - Ol' Blue went out for a little spin . Thought I'd go to the airport , there's a pub right at the end of the runway , a bit...

    While I'm at it syndrome

Well done , you lucky monkey ! A proper engine, too - with a carby and almost devoid of electronic trickery . You ARE aware ,of course ,ther'es no point buying a lottery ticket ever again , you just used up a lifetimes worth of good fortune . Enjoy !:thumb

VetteOz and Boomdriver........ Just fitted the BCM today , and relief all-round ! All works like a charm . Too easy !! Prob'ly should'nt have said that . So , ta v. much for your assistance . Right on the money . Got the new 'un from Corvette Central , $70 , but U.P.S. was $77 , but it got here...

    heater/defrost fan won't stop blowing !

Well..... Just ordered the mod from Corvette Central , $70 . Not too bad , we'll see what our duty-men want to screw me for when it arrives . Could easily double that . What's that old gag about not thieving - the government hates competition ? Ain't THAT the truth !:mad The wires look O.K...

    heater/defrost fan won't stop blowing !

Cheers for that , Vetteoz . Hope it's that and not anything fried . Looks like an easy-access item ,too ,which makes me smell a rat ! Unless , of course ,that's another "unobtanium" part like the '93 ECM's . If this never-ending cold front and hail let up ,I'd get out there and have a look ...

    heater/defrost fan won't stop blowing !

Just took my '93 out for it's annual test . Found one busted exhaust hanger , nothing a little weld would'nt fix . The battery cable was disconnected on the negative side , and when reconnected , the defroster fan was blowing . This with the heat/vent selector switch showing "off" . Selecting...

    sport seat parts wishlist

oh, boy !! Did it ever snow ! We had a force 7-8 Northerly , with heavy snow and the cover I have on Ol' Blue was ripped off on several occasions allowing a covering of snow to get blasted into every nook and cranny . It's so bloody cold and dark , as only a Limey winter can be , even tho' our...

    sport seat parts wishlist

Panic over...... The sport seats in my '93 have now been completely fixed - we now have full bolster and lumbar action , even the lumbar bladders are good 'n' airtight . The pump motors were re-installed and test run , so about one buck later for 2 pairs of rubber dishwashing gloves later , we...

    sport seat parts wishlist

Well.......... today was another freak glorious warm day , there was cold beer in the fridge , and I'd scored an early "dart" from work . So I pulled the seat pumps , being careful not to bust the pipe nipples , they were gently eased with a small electrical screwdriver . The upshot being , the...

Hmmmm..... slow days , eh ? Not too many of them just now ,5 days and counting 'till ol' Blue hits the road again . Just hope the current surreal wether holds for a bit longer . I'm working days this week , which is rare , so no time to do slow day jobs or otherwise just now . I'll get the...
