    Question for RamJet 350 owners

Gas mileage I have a Ram Jet 350 installed in a '62. T-56 6 speed with 0.5:1 overdrive, 3.08 rear gear. At 75 mph (about 1500 rpm) I get about 25-26 mpg. About 20 around town. I have one of the first Ram Jets which does not have an O2 sensor. I would suspect that the newer ones should get close...

John McGraw... How is the Resto Rod 59 coming along???

John: I have not yet fitted my body to the frame with the engine and transmission installed, but I am anticipating that a trans mount shifter will not fit properly. The picture of the floor mount shifter on the Lokar web site does not show the linkage. Does it use a single rod like the trans...

John McGraw... How is the Resto Rod 59 coming along???

John and Larry: I have Billy's rear tie rod kit which uses heim joints (rod ends). His kit mounts the two inboard rod ends using two long bolts and a thick spacer. The inboard rod ends are moved down and rearward from the stock location. The outboarb rod ends have to be mounted to the...

John McGraw... How is the Resto Rod 59 coming along???

John: I looked at the Wise Guy's seats in Billy's car up at Carlisle last year. They are pretty nice, except I would like a little more lateral support. Have you had your's covered yet? Did you add anything to the stock foam? I believe the seat backs also had a slight interference problem...

John McGraw... How is the Resto Rod 59 coming along???

Wiper questions John: A few questions on the wiper system: What system are you using and where did you purchase it? Does it have two speeds, intermittant speed, variable speed? Do you have winshield washers and how are they controlled? Does it come with a wiper switch and...

    Henny496's "major" project

I too was wondering if the tubes had to be completely welded. Guess it depends on the inspector. Thanks for the offer of dimensions, but mine will be going into a C1 body. What I would really like to do is build a "bolt in" cage, bolted to plates on the frame, but I guess that would not...

    Henny496's "major" project

Tom: That is quite a project. I know how much work something like this takes. I have looked at your pictures and read your description (several times) but I still need to ask a dumb question. The way I understand it, you are constructing tubular brackets that extend up throught the floor of...

Heh ..Here's Another Product That Didn't Work Either....Man,..!! I Love This Hobby

I thought they looked like Sandersons. I have some of their cast exhaust manifolds on my wife's car. From what I have seen and heard they make a good product. What size primary tubes do your headers have? The largest tube size that their web site lists is 1-7/8". I need something with a 2"...

another cool 61 build up in a magazine

Rich: Yeah, sometimes those editors get a little carried away. You would think that they would at least let you proofread the copy before printing it. But that's OK. I thought it was a well written article. I did try teaching Carol to TIG weld, but gave up. Charles

another cool 61 build up in a magazine

Hi Larry: Thanks for recommending the Corvette Action Center forum. The article in Corvette Enthusiast would lead you to believe that my wife did ALL the work on her car. Actually I was the one who did the welding on the frame. Other than that we did most of the work together. Carol did do...
