I'm not positive but when i was helping out a buddy with his MG he had some goop stuff that i applied with a paint brush and then i would have to have it sit for 5 min. after that i got a plastic spatula used for dry while projects and jusr scooped the goop and paint off. it's a repetitive job...

take it off and clean it really good to get all the armor-all stuff off then get leather shoe dye made by Kiwi and put a couple of coats on it untill you think its been absorbed enough and then wipe it clean then spray black magic shine on it and should be good to go, might have to reapply...

as long as the compound isnt left on for too long you can wipe it off with no problems i say a max 20-30 min depending on what your using. Just read the label to see how long it takes to dry and then go from there. if you want to be safe just tape up newspaper around the hole, apply compound and...
