    Question: C4 Backup Lamp Lens

You can try cleaning it, but Corvette Central (in Sawyer Michigan) had replacement ones. If you are restoring, they are the place to deal with. Call (800)345-4122 for a catalog or go on their web site and they will send you one. When restoring thesae older Vette's, Google is your friend...

    Help! regulator problems

What kind of regulator are you looking for, seat, window, fuel, voltage????? I'm guessing fuel, but whichever it is check Corvette Central. Some others are, Ecklers or Mid-America Motorworks.

OK. Good luck! Let me know what you eventually come up with. I'd be interested to know.

Sorry, but I have to ask about TIRES

Yes, if I was faced with the three choices you have I'd definitely go with the Wingfoot's. Good Luck and let us know how you like them.

Question: Restore Plastic Emblems on front and rear of 92 C4 Corvette?

You can get genuine GM Licensed New replacement emblems from Corvette Central and Ecklers. I bought a set for my C4 when I had it painted. They are beautiful. Once they are faded, sun-bleached and pitted, I haven't heard of any restoration process. New ones aren't that expensive. Page 58...

    Question: Light for radio 1996 LT4 C4

If it is a Bose system,...Get a flashlight. On my '90 the radio light bulb is non-servicable and to fix it you will have to send the unit in for service.....SURPRISE! Yes, it really sucks, just for a 50 cent bulb. Corvette Central has a service listed in their C4 Catalog page 142...

Sorry, but I have to ask about TIRES

Yea, I kinda cheated too. I put new Zo6 style 9.5x17" wheels on with the new BFG's. Love 'em! If you are considering wheels, check out OEWheels.com. Great deals, quality and fast shipping! Quality people to deal with! I rebuilt my whole car so I can relate to the difficulty in getting...

1992 C4 - code 12 no start. Fuel and Spark okay

Yes, according to your pictures it appears there is only one way to install it. I'd try bumping the engine around till #1 cylinder is at TDC on compression stroke. Stick your finger in the spark plug hole and crank the engine. When it blows your finger out(and it should or this indicates a...

1992 C4 - code 12 no start. Fuel and Spark okay

Maybe another member with opti experience can help. If you are getting a 12 code and nothing else the computer is telling you there is no problem it can detect. This tells me that the electronics and sensors are functioning correctly. Check out this article...

1992 C4 - code 12 no start. Fuel and Spark okay

I know little about the Optispark system particulars, but since you have spark, fuel (and) pressure with obviously air; Is there a possibility you are 180* off on the base timing. On all engines it'll definitely cause that kind of behavior and it is easy to have happen. The timing marks will...

Sorry, but I have to ask about TIRES

Oh well. Leave it to GM to make them all a bit different. Good Luck!

Sorry, but I have to ask about TIRES

I see what you are talking about. Tire rack says 255/45R17 on front and 285/40R17 on the back. That eliminates rotating them. Are the wheels the same width or are they different, too? Mine are 9.5" wide all the way around and a 54mm offset. I see your point though. Wonder why they did...

Sorry, but I have to ask about TIRES

I can't see why you guys are so enticed by the Conti's or the GD's? I'm looking at the ratings on tirerack.com and the BFG beats it in all the dry performance categories, like Cornering Stability, Dry traction and Steering response. I would think those are the most important factors for tires...

Sorry, but I have to ask about TIRES

I just bought a set of the B F Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2's Summer Ultra High Performance tires. These 275/40ZR17 tires are absolutely awesome.!!!!!! They are top rated and I can't believe how well my '90 corners and hugs the road. It's like an Indycar!!!! WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE! Some...

Valve seat / Valve work info needed

I couldn't agree more Kevo(especially about knurling the guides...waste of time.) I can't think of anything on a Vette I'd relish doing twice or more,.. besides driving it!

Valve seat / Valve work info needed

I had the aluminum heads on my L98 done by Windy City Engine Machine Shop here in Chicago. They have been around since the early '70s servicing the needs of professional engine builders and Hot Rodders alike. They did a remarkable job with my heads and engine block. I noticed quite an...

    Help! odd idle issue

As ecss said, I'd have to agree that air could be somehow getting into the plenum. Be it past a sticky(partially open) throttle plate(s), leaking gasket or seal. Also could there be an issue with your TPS, like it's mounting being loose? Are you pulling any codes?

    Question: fuel pressure regulator ??

I didn't mean to defend the girl at your local O'Riely's. She does sound snooty! I was just saying the girl at my local O'R's is pretty good and easy on the eyes too. It is usually as plain as day on their computer. I've used the computer at my local place to help her locate stuff for me...

    Question: fuel pressure regulator ??

All I can add here hotrod2 is to fix all your vacuum leak issues FIRST. The engine won't run worth a $hit if it is sucking air everywhere. It should pull a minimum of 18" of manifold vacuum at idle. Also, the plug gap is specific to the type of spark plug and head used, be it cast iron or...
