    Brakes go THUNK!

Reminds me of the time my wife came out of Wal-Mart to find her cat sitting on top of her car. As she walked towards her car, she wondered how it got there. When she got closer she noticed it was covered in oil*, only had half a tail, and was generally not in a good mood. * The car was a...

How to add manual trans oil?

I've used a couple of methods, both of which take time and are somewhat cumbersome. I'm sure there's a better way. 1. I have a pump (like a liquid soap pump from the bathroom) that fits on the gear lube bottles, and a clear tube that I feed from the pump into the tranny. It takes more pumps...

    Let's talk tunes................

My 78 has the original radio with 8-track. The radio works great, but the 8-track doesn't. Anyone know where I can get a drive belt for the 8-track unit? If I were to replace it, I would go with an Autosound that looks like a period correct radio, but with the line in jack for an mp3 player...

    Tail light question, 1973

Does the 68 have reverse lights? If so, are they separate like on C-4's?

Here is the latest!!!!!! Tire alert

Tirerack.com has Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's raised white letter - only catch is you would have to settle for 255 60 15's vice 245. That's what is going on my 78 when I finally get her up to VA from South Carolina (where she sits in the garage of the house I'm trying to sell).

    High Mile Oil Recommendation

I agree - use whatever the owner's manual calls for. That's what I do for all my vehicles. I have a 95 Ford Ranger with 204,000. I've never used anything other than the cheap Wal-Mart or Pep-Boys brand 5W-30, and a good phram filter. Change it every 3000 and leave it alone. Oil, is oil, is...

    How do you do it?

The only other thing I can come up with is... Do you own anything else you would like to sell instead of the '81 to free up the needed cash? Any other hobbies you don't use enough like an old boat, a couple of guns you never shoot anymore, etc, etc?

Center console Arm rest Cushion ? Yes or No ?

It's going to take about 60 gallons of gas to get it to seat properly. :) If you don't want to take the time to do it right, I'll gladly assist you!

Center console Arm rest Cushion ? Yes or No ?

I have one that came with my car - and I honestly didn't know that C-3's didn't come with them from the factory! Although I have at times pondered how much GM thinks they saved by not attaching it somehow - now I know "the rest of the story" HA! Well worth the $40 or whatever they're going for.

    Roll Bar

I don't know of an off the shelf roll bar design, but off the top of my head, there is an off the shelf ready to go way to put in 4 or 5 point harnesses. Not cheap though - $560...

    Help Brake Bleeding...

Add me to that prestigous club. Vette brakes and products sells calipers in sets of four for a reason! Sure, you can buy just one if ya really want to, but why?!

    Help Brake Bleeding...

It can be done with one person, but you will need a vaccum pump, or speed bleeders - or both if you desire. The vaccum pump is $20-$30 at most parts stores. Attatch the hose to the bleeder valve, draw a vaccum, crack the valve open, suck the bubbles out, close the valve, check the fluid level...

What's the opinion on this L-88 Stamp?

astrolake, You can call the nice lady at GM. Give her your VIN number, and she will send you a build sheet with all the specs on the car as it left the factory, as well as the name and address of the dealer that it was shipped to. I don't have the number handy right now, but I'm sure someone...

Virginia Emissions - 78 no cat converter

Thanks for the info guys. So my 78 is emissions exempt for being 25+ years old. But I need the annual safety inspection. If I register as an antique, then I don't need an annual safety inspection - but what is the catch? Is there an annual mileage limit or higher cost or anything like...

Virginia Emissions - 78 no cat converter

Hello again - it's been a long time since I've visited CAC. Nice to see some of the familiar names are still hanging around. Buying a Harley, getting married, and transitioning from the Marine Corps into a civilian role has kept me pretty busy the past year! Now that I am off active duty, I...

Poll: Who Did You Buy Your current C3 From?

Out of town dealer. I found my 78 PC on the internet while deployed in Africa a couple of years ago. I told myself that if it was still for sale when I got back to the states that I would drive to Atlanta and look at it. I did, and it was. I left Atlanta at 2100 in pouring down rain towing...
