    I'm Feeling Speed Bumps

I had the same sound from a broken belt in my Firestone Wilderness tires also. There was also a nasy bulge on an inside firewall. It's definitely worth a look like curtis said. Culprit PS - Ford bought me 4 brand new tires. I just went to a tire shop, waited an hour, and drove off. No...

Parking Brake Brackets on Trailing Arm

Don't worry, your secret is safe with me - I won't tell! "Interface," such a benign sounding word for such a "dynamic" test. ;LOL Bet you had some really good days at work there. We'll either be using the Tomcats as targets, or strip them of some electronics and sell them on e-bay, so to speak.

Parking Brake Brackets on Trailing Arm

Bill, so after getting acquainted with Grumman and McDonnell-Douglas' fine line of products you decided to give Boeing a try as well. You're hitting for the cycle. John, the Corps still flies a couple of F-4's out of Cherry Point. Well, let me re-word that - the Corps still maintains a couple...

Parking Brake Brackets on Trailing Arm

Welcome to CAC F14JetJock. Are you transitioning to the Super Hornets anytime soon? If you ever get over to the East Coast on a x-country and think you might stop for gas in Beaufort, send me a message. I run the ATC facility there. Semper Fidelis, Culprit

    C3's Brake/rotor-vents with sleeve-pin Inserts???

Come to think of it, I saw the same thing on at least one of my rotors (maybe more, can't recall). I seem to remember only one large roll-pin in there - I could be wrong on the number of them, but they were definitely there. Any ideas? Semper Fidelis, Culprit

Glad to hear you were successful! Anybody know where I can buy stock in PB Blaster?

Frozen Rear Brake Caliper Bolt Dilemma

69Shark, Please don't take this the wrong way, but if I were you I would double check to make sure I was working on the second caliper mounting bolt, and not on one of the bolts that holds the two halves of the calipers together. The bolts holding the calipers together are torqued a lot higher...

    Help with Engine ID #?

Maybe you can find the original VIN on a build sheet or on the frame. You need a mirror and it's somewhere near the rear left wheel, but I don't have anything more specific than that.

    oil stains

I don't have any great ideas but since it doesn't appear that anyone else does either... To clean small sections of my smooth cement garage floor after a project or a spill, I use orange go-jo with pumice and a scrub brush. My reasoning is that if the stuff will cut through grease on my hands...

pulling the body on my 74... Help!!!

I know you already have your body off, but for what it's worth, I stumbled across some pictures today on the internet. www.countycorvette.com Click on their 'tour' button to see pics of their shop. Towards the end of the tour they show several pics of them lifting or re-installing bodies on...

    Half Shafts

I don't know how much a shop charges to press u-joint caps out and in, but if you have a bench vice that opens wide enough (about 8 inches) then you can do it yourself with some PB Blaster using 2 sockets - one small enough on one side to push on the cap, and one large enough on the other side...
