I'm looking for input from the folks who have made the Keisler 5 speed swap.
I'm buying my Vette a Keisler 5 speed for Christmas (shhh, don't tell - it's a secret).
But which gear ratio should I go with? Current engine is the L-82 (220hp) and I'm planning/saving for a ZZ-4 (350ish hp) in a...
Ya can't argue with that!
Before I broke down and bought a brass tumbler, I used to slosh my dirty shell casings in vinegar to clean them before reloading them. It worked pretty well.

If you decide to go the Pace Car route - you could always check out the Keisler 5 speed manual overdrive tranny. It bolts in and they sell the pedal kits and hydraulic clutch actuator to convert the auto to a stick with no permanent mods to the car. Downside is that it's not cheap - by the...
A 78PC in the same condition as your 78SA (stock, all numbers matching, with all history and documentation etc) would cost considerably more than the SA. I guess what I am trying to say is that the PC you're looking at most likely isn't in as good of collector/investment condition as the car...
At the risk of hijacking the thread - if so just tell me to go start a new one...
What right does a jurisdiction (ie the State of VA for one) have to outlaw the use of radar detectors? What gives a state the right to tell me that I am not allowed to use electronics to detect eletromagnetic...
I agree with BeaterShark - change it often.
For 90% of vehicles there's only one question to ask yourself when you're standing in the oil isle: "What oil did the smart guys with the engineering degrees design the engine to use?" They're the ones who plugged all the numbers into the equations...
Schweeet Vette! Is Cortez the original color? If so my buddy is going to flip when I send him a link to your pics.
Welcome to CAC!

Does the 8-track do anything - make any sounds from the speakers at all? If it appears to be completely dead, before you send it out, you might want to spend a couple of minutes to take the top cover off the radio/8-track unit and check the rubber 8-track drive belt. 25 years doesn't do...
I think I can get you started and I'm sure someone else will chime in later.
Step one - I recommend taking the seats out. Some folks claim they can get the center console apart without doing this, but I never could - at least not without damaging the carpet covered fiberboard panels on the...
I would combine Robin and mdapp7879's advice - the hot lead from the cig lighter making ground. When I took my center console apart for some parking brake work, the cig lighter hot lead had come loose and was laying loose inside - just a matter of time before I hit a bump and it touched the...
Does anybody have a way to personally contact Jay Leno? We could ask him to ride up to the Governor's office on a 1976 Harley and deliver our message in person. He has the ability to get the word out to a large portion of California's constituents.
Thanks for the heads up Hib.

FE7 is the code for the upgraded suspention - the Gymkhana suspention. The FE7 option had the 7 leaf spring and the base suspention had the 9 leaf spring.

PS - Welcome to CAC Paul71LT1!
Howdy Robin,
I went with the stainless flex lines and have no complaints at all. Of course when you're single and already placing an order for 4 new stainless sleeved calipers, it's easy to justify the difference in price between the rubber and the stainless lines - compared to the whole...
$100?! I got a new flange for about $41 - either Zip or Ecklers - Zip I think. Of course when I bought the new flange, I also got the tool so that I wouldn't be ordering a second new flange.
The 'tool' is nothing more than an aluminum plate with threaded holes and a circular groove milled...
CONGRATULATIONS! It's a great feeling!
I can't answer your questions - but someone will be along soon to help out I'm sure. In the meantime, go to the top of the page and click on Tech Center, then on model center. There should be some info in there that can help you to start narrowing it...
