Tough crowd! LOL I understand your perspective yet the car has a track oriented dry sump oiling system and a battery relocated to the trunk. The car has wider tires and wheels.. as well as a new launch control system.
Those are all performance improvements..
Faster acceleration (true its...
The very low mileage gives me concern to the cost of the warranty per mile for you..
As it sits right now...with the average of 4K miles per year? I'd have to say I probably would pass on the warranty...
Now that I said that youre car will immediately explode..! (KABOOM!)
all kidding...
There are those that say they've seen the wide body Grand sport..
here is another sighting account:
"Rick,
I haven’t written in a while, but I’m at the Bash this week and took the plant tour. I was surprised to see some many ZR1’s being built, but also many of the new GT1 and Grand Sport...
Since no corvette coupe or convertibles were shown at the NY auto show this year...
Possibly this coming friday we'll see a new body style?
Could it be the wide body Grand sport will lead to an update for the iconic corvette..?
Wide body....wider wheels and tires.... air filter and Pcm...
When does GM release official information on this new Grand Sport..
If it comes with a wide body and wider wheels and tires...and NOT too much of an increase of price...
GM will have a winner on its hands..
if GM was flush with cash...I'd would have been pleased to see direct injection on...
Whats going on? I called up earlier this week for a service appointment next week since maxie was out of school and they told me to come up anytime...(oil change, clutch fluid change)
As much as I wish them well and they are great people.......Your the man C4C5...

The 96 grand sport was a hell of a performance car...
it regularly smoked c5's at the drag strip too..
That LT4 motor was bad @ss for the time...IMO and underated..
In this economy to get people to open their wallets ..GM needs more than stripes and decals..
Big @ss wheels and tires on a...
Why would GM move 2000 employees to bowling green when they are laying off the workers who are living in bowling green already..
makes sense to me...
If they need more workers at bowling green...just hire back the guys you just laid off that live there..?
The Sky and the solstice are...
Just decals or stripes and I wouldn't think to much of it...but ....and its a big butt..
Add wider fender flares, wider wheels and wider tires and you have a true performance improvement...worthy of the grand sport name..
lets remember the Z51 corvette as it sits this year has a top speed of...
I think the wide body corvette is the best attempt to sell more vehicles..
Corvette owners and new buyers will flock to the wide body grand sport ..
thats smart business..
Of course the wide body will require larger wheels and tires....so maybe GM will offer the grand sport with NON...
didn't the maggie come with a drivetrain warranty?
fwiw..I usually heard 450rwhp if the automatic tranny had a transmission cooler...to control the temps..
I would imagine...trying to contact the installer and see what they say...
Otherwise there are some very good choices for rebuilt...
thats a great way for GM to go...
If its not too expensive...it will be one popular option!
I would have bought that on my new corvette and for the guys with an older corvette...I am sure they will line up for this new wide body Grand Sport option..
If I remember correctly the guys were...

The rule of thumb is that 26 weeks of your salary should be used to purchase a car....
So if a preowned c6 z06 can be purchased for 45 grand...theorically (SP) you should make 90 grand a year ...or so the story goes...
Of course if you have a mortgage payment etc...then the rule of thumb is...
Thanks for the information. I personally think GM missed the boat on this.
had GM offered the wide fenders and wheels they could have sold the car with the extra 3300 dollar premium...
Leave out the stripes...the nonsense...
Just create a Z51 coupe with NPP and the wide body look with the...
