    Hood release

Last ditch effort... I would keep trying the screw driver thing if I were you. Study the pictures on the link Sly posted. It might take a while, but it will work. If all else fails, I know that at least one guy here at CAC had to lay on the ground, reach up under the nose of the car and...

Can you name this part please?

Axle flange - thanks Dave! Now that I know what it's called, I just have to find one to buy... Semper Fi, Culprit

Can you name this part please?

What is the name of the bracket that mounts the half shaft to the spindle/wheel assembly at the u-joint? ;help When my u-joint blew, it fused itself to this part and no amount of persuasion is going to separate them. :bang I tried to find it on Eckler's web site and have not been successful...

    Hood release

There are two access holes at the base of the windshield, one on each side close to the hood latches. They are filled with a rubber plug that you can pull out and then poke a screwdriver through the holes and trip the latch. If the hood release cable connecting the left and right side latches...

    Metallic chatter/squeak from rear wheel

Turned out to be the wheel-side u-joint on the half shaft. It was completely gone and the heat it generated fused it to the bracket that bolts to the wheel so I need a new one of those as well. Culprit

    Mods for a tall guy

I have a friend who is 6'6" and has always loved sharks. Now that I have one, his interest is renewed, but he still doesn't fit in them. He is guessing he would need to gain 3 inches to the rear and sit 3 inches lower (even with the extra room that glass tops give over solid ones). Has...

    Metallic chatter/squeak from rear wheel

Here's my problem: I hear a metallic chatter/squeak from my right rear wheel during acceleration that has been occuring more frequently over the past couple of days. The oscillation of the squeak seems to match tire RPM's (something downstream from the differential), and the sound stops when I...

How do you get shift knob off

I wouldn't complain about being rusted tight. The knob on my 95 Ford fell off in my hand a week ago during a 3rd to 4th shift. ;LOL :bang A little super glue and I was back in business!

76 Tire size and dunlop vs BFG

The car came with Goodyear Eagle GT+4's in 255/60/15 and there's no problem at all. It's getting close to replacement time and I'll mostly likely go with more of the same. Semper Fi, Culprit PS - If I'm not mistaken, Dunlop is a French owned company. I won't even buy their tennis balls.

Links Thread: Where to buy C3 Corvettes.

Aussie, I bought from American Sportscar Center just outside of Atlanta. www.buyavette.net Vettes are just about all they sell. I know it's not local for you (it was over 5 hours for me from SC) but they seem to be honest and helpful people - at least they were with me, and they seem to have...

Who has replaced the standard radio

Vette/Berlina-coupe, You have me curious now - and wanting some more info. Do you have a company name or a web site with more details? Thanks, Culprit

Killer back on the drawing board

Chris, So you don't like the Keisler 5 spd direct replacement? Is that because you'd rather have the 6, or because you can get a deal on the Richmond or...? I haven't decided yet, but if I do put an OD in, I think I'm going with the Keisler. Looks like the best deal going for my car and...

    76 hood

At the bottom of the windshield where the wipers are, there are two holes plugged with a rubber stopper - one hole on each side of the car. Take out the rubber stoppers and use a flat blade screwdriver to reach through the holes and trip open the hood latches. If the cable connecting the left...

    Looking for a C3

Heidi - thanks for bringing us back to the issue at hand. Sorry for the hijack Ryan. Culprit (LastRide - sounds like you have a good plan. I'm not looking for overkill, but adding some speakers in the doors might not be a bad idea - I'll have to give it some thought.)

    Looking for a C3

Last Ride, Are you taking out the map pouch pockets on the doors and putting the speakers there? I'm also curious what sort of radio you're putting in the dash since I'm trying to decide to repair the factory 8-track or go with a Custom AutoSound unit with CD changer or something similar...

    8 Track Tape Player

Thanks 81kix, I'll do that. Now the question is, will 82Guy be checking the CAC from Hershey this week? I won't hold my breath - I'm sure he's going to be a busy man till Thursday - but I'll get a hold of him when he gets back. "Guy 82 where are you?" Culprit
