The die hard stick shift fans probably voiced their opinion against the paddle shift for the Z06...
Personally the Bullsh!t with the clutch pedal has swayed me...
I'd buy a double clutch shift technology in a Corvette anyday of the week just so I didn't have to deal with the sticking clutch...
Beleive it or not Porsche is creating a new automatic paddle shifter with dual clutch technology that surpasses both the M6 and tiptronic in its execution.
Should be out next year or so!
Can't wait to see what occurs in the transmission world after that car releases..
Could be all over...
I heard that GM was testing the new A6 paddle shifter in the Z06 and it was in fact a faster track car than the six speed manual.
Corvette buyers for the most part think driving a manual is important to "Being in control" or some bull.
Maybe GM engineers have'nt experienced the Corvette...
Yes you can with a tech II any dealership can if they want turn off the tire sensor portion of the computer so it lays dormant like a C5 Z06 has....
a ton of guys with C5 Z06's put the sensors in non runflat tires and have the pcm "woken' up so to speak..
I personally like not having sensors...
600 hp is pretty easy to hit in the C6 Z06. I don't think all the components being swapped out are necessary but it sounds good and I'm sure it makes the car that much better..
That hood if horrible though...
The flat bottomed steering wheel sounds interesting.
The ron davis radiator is a...
This was a left over 2006 in the calendar year 2007?
the dealer wanted it moved and advertised it and sold it.
The c6 Z06 was so hot and I would imagine sales volume of the coupe and convertible was a basis point for the C6 Z06, the special SS (or whatever its called ) and the special...
I don't know why...
I couldn't tell you..
but I had this driveability issue....
The car was running intermediantly (sp) like crap...
vibration ...blah..blah..
Swapped out that little pcv valve that was jammed in the tube...
I swear something came flying out as it was pulled out of...
I've read some threads that say if it flows air one way its good. If it flows air both ways then it needs to be replaced..
Also have heard its a good thing to check the plastic tubes to make sure the hoses don't leak..
If they leak the car will run lean or so I've read.
I have been watching this stroked L92 setup as well.
Even better is the rumor that GM is going to offer a l92 high performance crate motor with a 24 month 24K mile warranty too boot.
OE is a company that almost fooled many years ago.
Their rims are OEM "STYLE" but not Original Equipment products ie. They weigh more and are manufactured differently.
I don't care to be misled and I don't care to buy wheels that weigh more than factory products.
My suggestion from the...
You've gotten a lot of good answers.
Unsprung weight or the weight of the wheels in this case can even a few pounds can be detrimental to acceleration, handling and other performance aspects..
I'd recommend Original equipment Z06 rims that have been chromed over OE chrome rims...OE is a...
I'm not a big fan of OE wheels.
I believe they weigh more than stock and that extra unsprung weight is not good.
Make sure you go lighter rather than heavier ....
I like LG rims he is offering at a good price better...(more expensive but worth it)
Go with 18's all around as the best...
Rumor is the the gentleman that took the photos has gotten fired and the photos are being taken down at the request of GM site by site.
Just a heads up on a rumor.
Thanks for posting the photos...

2010 makes sense because it will brought in line with the upcoming rwd product is set to release in that timeframe.
There will be more sharing under the skin in various areas and the change of the corvette will reflect this...(Or so the story goes)
Here is what the ad states...(just posted) and I thought of you.
Passenger side air bag cutoff switch: bought for a 2000 (may fit other years) included all wire harnesses, switch and indicator. Has pewter seat belt (you can reuse your existing belt so I was told)$100 shipped (pix available on...
Move quickly and look at this advertisement of someone selling an air bag cutoff switch kit that they never installed.

Glad to hear the c5 z isn't going to be a collectible.
I'm having too much fun using this thing!
JMO
but the best investment there is ....involves using the c5 z as much as humanly possible.
:L what a great sports car!
One too many F's ...sorry guys...
The price discount bringing the cool Vette to 39.9 is a hell of a deal....
Wonder what the 08's are bringing to the table..
Usually dealers do this to move an enormous amount of vehicles in a year before some wild @ss crazy improvements coming..
Now it...
