You might try doing a compression check, A broken helper spring caused about a 50% drop in compression on one cylinder on one of my dads cars, was acting like a miss on an engine anylizer.

Good progress and way to work through the small obstacles, put an old bath towel over the motor now to keep all the dust in your garage out of the galleys, and make sure you get all the old gasket material off. John had a good article in Corvette Enthusiast last year sometime on...
There was an article in an old Corvette News about him too, the movie "Corvette Summer" was even premiered there, I don't think the articles were as flattering after they found out where he was getting the parts.

I have never even heard of that Magazine did it evolve into another? Seems you guys had all the good stuff in the old days, seems like every corvette show used to have an Autocross, a big party, and a wet-t shirt contest, or from what I gather from all the old Corvette News I have...
Are you using the gaskets? From what I have seen the repros are better than the last runs of the GM parts, Trim Parts actually cleans the molds every once in awhile. Are they the first quality or seconds?
