    1969 435 Tri-power Reliable

Tri powers are very desirable setups, especially the 435 HP models. They work great as long as a BUBBA stays away form them. The end carbs do not have pumps in them and they work best with the vaccum linkage intact. The aftermarket linkage makes them perform horrible and over the years some of...

    HID headlights for a midyear?

If you want the brightest you can get, then use a set of aircraft landing lights Number 4537 Wagner or any other name brand in the inside light housing. Leave the outsides alone as the ACL`s are two wire and will only fit the inside bright. Just by using two you can almost see the Florida line...

Chrome headlight surrounds - Which years?

The reason 62`s were one color is that they no longer had a stainless trim around the cove. Notice both fuel cars below :upthumbs

    Looking for a 62

You are looking for one of the most desirable Corvettes made. The top prices are the FI cars and to a lesser degree the 340`s. What ever you get, do not buy a basket case because of a low price. Most of them would be missing some very valuable expensive pieces that would put you in the poor...

    The new Caddie Vette

I just talked with Bob Lutz as he drove one of the new Caddies and he said it was a unreleased new platform. Trick top and stuff. for only $75,000 and a Northstar 32 valve engine. One all black, and the other was silver at Stanfords Vette show in Dearborn. The Black one was full of orange peel...

C2, did it have a trunk?

Vettes with trunk lids, doors or whatever stopped in the 1963 model, 62 and down until the 97`s came out. Also the gas door on the side followed the same way

adjust valves without a big mess

It`s very simple to do with out the engine running and oil splashing all over. Just watch the valve springs as they open and close by bumping the engine over with the starter. Do each cylinder individually as follows, As the exhaust starts to open adjust the intake valve and as the intake closes...

Need some help with find info on a 62

If you lack information on the 62, all you can do is go to the original owner. However there are some tell tail items on the car that you could refer to that may help identify what it is or what it was. The tachometer is the first place to look and check the red line, 5500 would be a hydraulic...

    Proper tune up procedures

Do all the things JohnZ recomended. Thats where fine tuning starts. Actually setting the carb idle and timing work together. As you advance the timing the idle will normally get higher as the engine cleans up, then turn the idle back down to 800-850 if its a high compression solid lifter engine...

    Proper tune up procedures

I presume it`s a BB chevy. 94 is OK for anything below a L88. In otherwords, 11-1 motors can run effectively with 94. Don`t retard the timing, a minimum of 36 total, or as long as it starts when hot.:upthumbs

    OK, I have another problem

It appears from your post that the cam is hydraulic, The valves may be too tight and the engine will not start with open valves. Without going through a valve setting procedure, just loosen them up and give it another try. The correct setting can be done later after it works IF that is the...

Thats because you took the stat out, the water circulates too fast for the radiator to cool it! BIG MISTAKE!:nono

Operating temps for my '84 C4.

The recomended stat is a 195, on this subject your going to get so many different thoughts on what others have done to their cars it may drive you nuts. All I can tell you is that if you walked in the door and asked for a stat for a 84 Vette, I would sell you the 195 and be comfortable you will...
