That was your problem, the corrosion on the battery cable..it was seeking ground and the next thing you should check is the shifting cable for the same corrosion as it may break at a ill opportune time...

Most logical reply, and if it passes the leak down then valve seals would be the next possible problem. Otherwise the other replys have it covered....:upthumbs
What most of the forum doesn`t realize or just know that silicone by itself is a gasket. Many think is used like an adhesive....Just follow the above replys as its the best way...plus you can reuse them [gaskets] if necessary.....

High heat causes most of the out of round conditions or warped rotors....panic stops and aggressive driving with frequent higher speed stops will also contribute to that condition....,
