    Question: 17" rims on 1984

84 Z51 with a 4+3 Yep, they do but only with adapters however. The Sawblades are somewhat stronger than the 87 wheels pictured . But then they steal the whole damn car if you put them on....:upthumbs

    acceleration backfire

U may have a broken valve spring. It obviously starts and runs good at idle. Not the ignition or carb as too many parts have been changed to eliminate ignition and carb issues. Check the valve springs. The answer may be there.

    correct valve lash 63 327/340?

From Memory It was 1964 that the 30/30 cam was introduced. The 097 was the forerunner to the 30/30. Two views on the 097 cam. I always thought the lash was 8/18 but there has also been 12/18 usage too. By the way, EOI/ICE is correct and easy to use.

    Factory warranty replacement engines

The CIE letters are/is probably an original passenger or truck engine transplanted by the owner and from the 70`s as it does not appear in any Vette engine history. Mike is correct as CE engines were dealer replacement and also over the counter. So the dates could be anywhere and not within the...

    Question: Luggage rack

Nope, not Me . Who would want to screw up the clean lines of this Vette with a luggage rack? Not me! They were a option for a few years in the late 70`s when they ran out of ideas for changes, the rest were aftermarket. There was always enough room behind the seats. I even carried my ski`s...

    Question: Leather vs. Vinyl.

Your kidding, its a no brainer. Leather is Leather, Plastic is Plastic no matter what the popular name for it is today. {Vinyl, Naughahide, Plastic, Leather Like} use whaterver you want to call it. It should be obvious by the price alone. Do you or can you imagine a Harley rider wraping...

    rocker arm adjustment

All you need to know,..:upthumbs You may try rotating the engine with the alternator and a socket on the nut holding the fan and pulley. You may have to tighten the belt to prevent it from slipping. This would avoid searching for the crank bolt and use of the starter to roll it over. It would...

    Help me understand whitewalls

Yes, there`s wires on the 60. It`s been a long time and when did they first use the 61, could that have been with hubcaps and then switch to wires. Could you view the early episodes of the 61 and find out when the 61 was first used? In fact I dont even remember the 60 in any episodes as I may...

Help! Showstopper? Overflow hose broke off the Rad

. You could repair it with Epoxy panel adhesive if you can get near it. Also, leaving the radiator cap loose to the first notch will allow you to drive it to get it repaired as there would not be any pressure forcing the fluid out. If you cannot do the job, a local body shop will probably have...

    Help me understand whitewalls

The Dayton knock-offs on this Vette were inspired by the Route 66 TV series. They had them, I didn`t until I stopped in Xenia on my way home from school. Set of '5' wheels 15X6 and adapters, lead hammer, and caps $432.00. Today about $400.00 each....;LOL They didn`t use the wires until several...
