    roller rockers

To be frank with you the horsepower value of roller rockers are not worth the cost and trouble. You have already found that clearance is one major problem. Others are the silly way they are locked down. However by thick double overhead gaskets {valve cover} you may get some height back to allow...

need to get a mini starter, but I need some help....

Those high dollar aftermarket mini starters are made from 4 cylinder starters. A better and wiser choice would be to buy a late model GM V6 starter and it will bolt right up and be trouble free. :upthumbs

Perfect Circle Teflon Valve Seals in a BB

The guides will have to be cut down which is a good idea for a performance camshaft for clearances anyway. However they are a postitive seal and the guides will have a hard time getting oil to them.

    holley replacement/66 L-72

I`m using a 3310 Holley with vacuum secondaries on a L72 "IP" 66 427 in a 68 Camaro with a Turbo 400 trans and it runs great. Direct replacement. In fact GM never built a 68 Camaro or any other car with a L72 against a turbo 400 in 68. Only lower HP BB`s. But I did! PS, this is either a 735 or...

    TPI intake compatibilty

Not sure, but 85 or 86 TPI units are different than 84`s and earlier because of the heads bolt pattern.

The Trick Flow heads are for a year or two later than your iron heads.

    Help me understand whitewalls

68`s Had Blackwalls From The Factory. I realize that this is a C1 and C2 thread as I have already entered my 62 and showing blackwalls.:D But some C3 people have jumped in also. Therefore if I remember correctly this picture was taken in March 1968 the day I brought the 68 home from the dealer...

    68 Coupe Passenger Door

Thanks George, I`m glad you answered, but I wish a little sooner.:D We went and repaired the door. Extensive and a ton of work, but the sucker came out perfect. We made new sheetmetal for the outer window whisker and glassed it back in. Metal and glass doors, what a joke. Hell the whole car is...

    I love my shark

They are nice cars to enjoy and you wont regret the purchase. I have been enjoying mine since new in 1968 and have never thought of selling it. I looked on the clock {speedometer} a few days ago and found that it only has 28086 miles on the darn thing. I parked it when the gas went crazy in...

{Opinions and input} AeroBody - What would you like to see styled into the next gen?

I dont know what a aerobody is and I really dont care. I did not vote in the poll as to body changes. They come anyway whether you like it or not. Plus I dont think my reply was offering any solution to the style of body GM comes up with. I love HP and the fact that GM has lagged considerably in...

Attention all with flat tappet cams

Writers in Hot Rod books are only printing hearsay and offered for the truth of the matter asserted. They dont have first hand subject knowledge, they only repeat what some one else has told them. Thats the person you want to talk to.;)

{Opinions and input} AeroBody - What would you like to see styled into the next gen?

The most important change to me is the retro choice to be able to select any engine. In otherwords, the ability to have a choice of engines available in any body style and not limited to a ZO6. :upthumbs

Attention all with flat tappet cams

This article, if true would apply to all flat tappet camshafts which would include both solid and hydraulic cams. If so then roller camshafts are the only way to go? I see this as a very ambiguous statement. Camshaft failure in my opinion is almost totally the result of improper installation...

    BBC intakes

I used a Edlebrock cross ram and a pair of 600`s in a 17 foot Stevens flatbottom ski boat with a new crate L72 427 and it worked great. However it will never fit in a Vette without serious hood modifications. My only point is that mechanically Quads will work on horsepower BB Chevy`s. Plus they...

    4:11 carrier larger?

There are now gear sets {4`s} that can be installed in your original 3 series carrier with out the need of buying a special 4 series carrier. These were not available a few years ago and or current owners may just not be aware of these sets. They are on the market however. ;)
