I think the biggest advantage is being able to firm up your shifts if you have an auto. I've read reports of people going to the drag strip and actually losing time after a hypertech tune.

I think that's the other way around. Early C4 = scissor Late C4 = ribbon. .....and the ribbon is easer and can be installed in an earlier C4.
