Where do I get GM "special tools"

Kent moore makes the tools. http://www.spxkentmoore.com/ The used the sell them online, but now you must call. Just look up the "J" part number you need in a service manual, and they will be happy to sell it to you

    Serpentine belt part number dilemma

sorry, scratch that. The 97 is 80 3/16 and the new style is 80 3/8. The old style is shorter. Regardless, they are very close

    Serpentine belt part number dilemma

I just looked, and the 97 belt is only 1/8" longer than the 01' belt. I don't think you'll have a problem with either

    Serpentine belt part number dilemma

btw, the C5 uses an odd belt which can be hard to find. I run a slightly shorter belt with a Katech tensioner and 10% underdrive pulley. Napa seems to be the only place that can get belts in this size range. 27/32 6 rib 80 3/8 204.15 cm NBH25060798 Stock for an 01 Here are the next...

    Farmer Sebring update and Video

I wouldn't post this prior to the TV race, but it gives nothing away. Starting 11th, then moving as high as 5th, my car was losing brake fluid, and I finally had to start dropping back or risk a bad crash. Enjoy! http://www.metricchemical.com/03sebring.ram streaming...

Inlet and outlet sizes for the C5 exhaust?

It is a weird setup, as the 2.5" inlet and the outlets (2.25?") are on the same side of the muffler. Unless you want to run the exhaust in a different route (ie out the sides of the car), you need specifically designed mufflers for the car.

Anyone have Mag Wheels? If so what are you going to do about Spare Seals?

service manual makes no mention of these seals. The only thing even close, is that you must use a special lubricant for mounting tires on the rims. GM 12345884 is a non-silicon, no corosive lube. It absolutely does not mention any seal for the back of the wheel. Dave

    door panel removal on a 97 C5

Also, if you lower the window, the pick on the panel as you remove it. The top sort-of hooks over the top of the door, and lowering the glass makes it easier. You can do it with a screwdriver (not the tool mentioned above), but be very careful. Once you get one loose, the others will just...

    Changing brake pads on C5

very easy, just take out the top bolt and rotate the caliper out of the way. Make sure you push the pistons in (before removal) enough to get the new pads back in. You don't need to remove the big caliper bolts (attaching to spindle), just the small ones on the caliper itself.
