Hey Lil Red, Turns out you were right. Just had to lift up on the rear of the panel and move it around a bit so the retaining pins seated better into the roof. Sometimes the obvious is just too easy. Thanks to all and have a safe Labor Day weekend.

Yes those have the rubber on them. The roof rattles on the other end down at the floor. It's very loose there. I think if I pull hard enough on it the roof would come loose.

I'm not sure what you mean by the retaining latches? Do you mean the pins that go into the rear of the roof? If so, no there's no rubber tips. Should there be?

My 02 coupe roof rattles like crazy when stored in the back. The pins look fine and I don't have any problems when the top is on. I was thinking of putting some rubber pads into the pin mounts on the trunk floor. Anyone else with this problem and a suggested fix? Thanks to all.
