I posted that story in the humor or off road section a couple of months ago. It made it into The NY Post "weird but true section"
Apparently the guy was having breakfast admiring his Vette from the window of the diner when it disappeared. I don't know if that is the car from the story or...
The chamois must be wet. Do not use it dry. I soak mine in a pail of water while I wash the car. Then wring it out and lay it flat on the car surface and pull it towards you. Usually after 2 passes you need to wring it out again and continue. I've always used chamois to dry my car but make sure...
I know many of you guys and gals replace your stock systems with high end stereos but I'm actually not that disappointed in the stock Bose system, except, the front speaker rattle. My 2002 less than 1 year old has that annoying buzz. I don't trust the local dealer and being somewhat handy I want...
I'm thinking of getting the Blackwing for my 02 coupe. Will I have to do the idle re-learn after the install? Is it truly a bolt on easy install and can I go back to the stock set-up if need be?
Thanks to all. This is without a doubt the best forum out there.
Let's end this war quickly and...
Thanks guys. I really want to try something different on the Mag Red. I'm currently using Maquires Gold Class. Good results but like Yankee I want something deeper. The Mag red seems to react to different waxes. Wanted to go the Zaino route but it just seems to me to be complicated. Maybe not...
DRTH VTR
Just noticed your from Boise. I worked out there a couple of years ago. Funny story I got bumped from the Holiday Inn at the airport and was sent to stay at the "Anniversary Inn" One of those theme hotels. Very funny I had the Swiss Family Robinson Suite, by myself!! My bed was in a...
My "02" is my 2nd Vette, the first being a 99 Hardtop and I drive to NYC everyday from Queens. Both cars are 6 speeds. I had the issue with the seats wearing on the 99 and some of the other common issues with the earlier C5's. I park in a garage at home and on 34th St. across from my office. I...
I've had very good results with a little Mr. Clean or even Pine Sol on a rag. The marks come right off. Then I clean with water and a little treatment on the area.
Yes I was surprised they were still in business also. Used them quite a bit back in my motorcycle days and VW Beetle times. They are on the net at www.jcwhitney.com
Not as large a catalog as it was years ago but they still sell those leather, cloth, vinyl repair kits. I guess its a less...
I got a J.C. Whitney catalog not too long ago and it had the repair kit your talking about. Never used one so I don't know the results but if you had good luck with it before you might want to look them up on the net.
I bought my Vette from Kerbeck last June. Salemans name was Dave Brown. Easiest car purchase I ever experienced. He quoted me $4,000 off the sticker price plus the $1,000 cash back from GM. All of this quoted over the phone and when I arrived there no punches were pulled. They even buyed me...
I use a product called "Clearview" I can't remember off hand who makes it, it's one of the big manufacturers, but I get it at Pep Boys. For the interior windshield I apply the cleaner to a clean cotton towel (wet it good) and wipe it down more than once. Then a final rub down with a dry towel...
