Delco's are famous for leaking on your wiring harness and computers. Actually, you may be rather lucky if it hasn't. Get a gel battery or AGM battery for your toy car. You will not be disappointed.
When I replaced my battery, I got one of those 9 volt clips that you insert into your cigarette...
Blacknred,
The C5 will drain a battery after about 3 weeks of unuse. You do need to either start it every three weeks or put a battery tender on it. Your battery probably is dead. Betcha it's a delco. Get an Ultima yellow top for a replacement.
Now as for your key fob, it probably does...
Am interested in learning more about using an LS1 Edit. Can they reprogram the steering column lock process to release once and never insert pins again. Secondly, instead of saying Corvette by Chevrolet, I'd like my DIC to say Corvette for Mike
Think SAFETY.
There is nothing worse than having your car fall on you. Jack Stands and a jack is all you need. Sears normally has a jack and stands on sale, if not most of the auto parts stores do. Never get under a car without it being properly secured.
You want to raise the car up until...
Honestly, every time I wash mine, after drying the exterior, I wipe down the engine compartment with a moist towel. I get most of the stuff out and I get to touch my engine without risk of going blind.
In the past, if I remember correctly, I've pulled either fuse 23, or 24, on the passenger side foot well waited 30 seconds and reinserted the fuse. It resets the codes though. Wait until after the car cools down, I've also notice a great deal of heat in the computer area there.
Because I store my baby during the winter I do need cold cranking amps. The yellow top provides it. Considering the problems with the delco leaking on your wiring and computers, why consider second best. Change your battery. Red tops are good for amp eating stuff such as music, hp and other big...
Am using a yellow top with good results. I have had no problems both with the install and continued use. Heck, even while the car is in storage, it is far stronger than the delco.
The Cags eliminator that I received was a one piece unit. Once I separated the two ends of the unit, I unplugged the cags connection on the driver's side of the car, using jack stands. Plugged in the female plug into the cags eliminator and the male plug into the female side of the eliminator. I...
If the CAGS eliminator is installed correctly, no codes are sent. The light will still pop up occasionally. Just make sure that you install both parts of the Cags eliminator on the transmission correctly. There should be no problem.
Congrads on your new vette, JP. Don't forget to wave:beer
What I did was purchased a 9 volt battery connector that fit into my cigarette lighter. I think I got it from Ecklers. Plugged in the 9 volt into the connector and plugged the connector into the lighter. Then I changed the battery. No settings were lost.
:)

What kind of battery do you have Silver... If it is a Delco, GET IT OUT of your engine compartment. They have leaked on other owner's computer's and wiring harness, resulting in a great deal of damage. When they start leaking, though they can cause the computer to give weird messages. Get a...
Ours is not the question if, ours is the need to get rid of that battery. Some of the Delco's have leaked on to the wiring of the computers driving our C5's. The repairs are both very expensive and time consuming. It is not worth the risk, just get rid of that thing.
It sounds as though you might still have a AC Delco battery in it. It may still have some residual charge in the battery. I am more concerned about the battery leaking on your electronics. If you can, get both the 9 volt cigarette lighter connection and plug it in while you are changing the...
While, I'll agree that flat spotting of this generation of tires is hardly an issue. This is the third year of me putting the car up on stands, with no problem. If there ever was, there are better shocks out there. Also, this allows me to change the gas filter and clean the underneath of the...
Why not just use jack stands. Put a 2x4 between the stands and the car. The problem I have with your location is the presence of water. Put a ground sheet or drop cloth under the car to limit the amount of moisture being radiated up into your car. Put a dececant in the interior to keep it dry...
I had an 87 that I lost when I was double tee boned. It was late in the fall and I was feeling really depressed. On Thanksgiving, I drove by a dealer that had several C4's. The next day I drove up and looked at them. But they where auto's and hardtop only.
I looked at this C5. The salesman...
