    A 4 Question

I thought it was a VW wanabe, driven by snobs and road hogs, gets bad gas mileage and will rust. Ah but what do I know. maxm, The automatic which was an option on most cars up until lately. The standard transmission installed in cars was the manual transmission, thereby people still refer...

    Daytime parking at work... cover?

I intend to keep my vette for a very long time. Am not going to use color based waxes or polishes. Am not going to subject it to too much sun light and it likes it's terry cloth blankie. It runs better and gives me better gas mileage. Trust me.

    Daytime parking at work... cover?

When ever I leave my toy out, I cover it. It avoids bird strikes, dust from the parking lot and possibly protects it from people opening their doors on it. Obviously its not covered in the rain and if I am parking for a short period. I also make sure that both the cover and the car both clean...

Raffle a 1998 vette, who is interested?

There was an old joke about a farmer doing a raffle for his horse. Unfortunately, the horse died before the raffle was held. The raffle was held as scheduled. When the winner complained, he gave his money back. I've heard of this before, win a house or car. Unfortunately, this one doesn't pass...

Yet another variation of a turbo Vette!

Why stop there, for a few dollars more, he could have put a jet engine in there. Probably would get better mileage and wouldn't have to worry about shooting down an aircraft when his heads and/or pistons go through the hood.

    Gas-smell

This is not to say that your problem is that serious. However, these cars are too expensive not to handle it seriously.

    Gas-smell

Flat bed your car directly to the dealer. Don't smoke in or around it. Check out this thread concerning a similar issue: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33008

Racing harness in a daily driver

I heard somewhere that putting in and wearing a 5 point harness that hasn't been approved by the NTSA, constitutes driving without wearing a seat belt. Has anyone else looked into that ? Bottom line, I'd like a 5 point, but held back because someone got a ticket for wearing one.

    Bent rims

Did you notice any vibration before replacing the tires. This one is odd. Personally, I suspect the tire balancing machine, mechanic, and/or new tire being out of round. I take mine in this weekend, let us know how you make out. Would suggest a second opinion though.

    Insurance Woes

First off I hope you and your passengers were not injured. Look the bottom line, you may have to pay more insurance. But, at least you are around to pay it. The other side of the coin, since you are so young and parts for the 66 are not easy to come by, why not make it a project car to fix...

    Going to buy a C5...

I bought my c5 1 week before the first snow. It was a great week. I asked the guy if he wanted to make the car payments over the winter or did he want me to make them for him. Never buy a vette in the spring, everyone wants them, never sell them in the winter, no one needs them. Simple...

Whats first when restoring? (obvious NewB)

The first thing I will do when ever the next time the restore bug ever bites me is, find a car that I CAN restore. Not only by my ability but also what I can afford to do. There is not a single person on these boards that can not find a cheap vette. There also is not a single person on these...

    What did I break???

Sounds like a vacum fitting of some sort. You might be able to pick one up at your local chevy dealer. You do need to be more descriptive with them tho. Secondly your overheating problem sounds like you have an air pocket in the engine block. Did you try your heater and was it blowing cold...
