C4C5Specialist,
A quick question. Was told that the factory bypass kit is only for A4's not standards.
They redid the entire recall again including the splicing. So far so good, but it will be a while before I take a date in it until my trust returns. At least it got home with no problem...
Lets see if we can work this backwards.
According to c4c5, there are 16 different things that can cause this to occur. Question for the people getting this. What were the conditions before you got the steering column message. Was the car hot, was it humid.. What was going on.
Mine was really...
It happened again....
My gut feeling is that it is heat related. When ever I go on a date and it's hot outside, it happens. Either that or the computers in the vette are more sophisticated than I thought.
Am not pleased. Waited about 2 hours and retried. Got the pull key and retry. Waited 10...
I found out that #22 was unnecessary for my y2k. Get it to the dealer and have them fix the service column lock. I did that after pulling and reinserting #23 only as a temporary reset (kind of control, alt, delete for the bcm). After the trip to the dealer I have not had problems.

69,
Optima is owned by Johnson Controls. I do not think that they are affiliated with Interstate. Here is their web site: http://www.optimabatteries.com/index.asp

Sorry 'bout that 69.
I got an ultima. it is a little smaller and seemed a little lighter. The cold cranking power is up there and it hopefully will never leak. I believe that it is a solid state.
BTW, how much juice is the car using when the key is pulled.

FYI,
Washington Times has been against the Red light cameras and speeding cameras for quite some time. This is not an endorsement by any means but, it was an interesting article

Absolutely not...
Corvette is the markee (sp.) of the chevy brand. It loses money, but it is what very many people strive for. It is a symbol that Chevy puts out a quality and performance product that can and does compete with all other manufacturers of automobiles.
Look at the Lexus, Acura...
I brought my car for the recall and a second time as that it failed to fix the problem. The interesting thing was I was not hearing the servo motor that pulls the pin out of the steering wheel when I was getting the service column lock message. Secondly, the steering column was definately not...
Mine locked today and yesterday with a service column lock message. What I did was pull fuse #23 out and put it back in after 15 seconds. The message went away.. What was happening was that I could turn the wheel all the way to max turning on both sides, while I had the key out.
After I pulled...
I have a navy blue. What I was considering was getting a decal instead. If I changed my mind, I could strip it off. The car is always garaged and when not being driven, covered therefore the would be very little bleaching of the paint around where the stripe. I don't know, good idea ?
