    I recently had a shop make a dual exhaust system for my vette, but he did it in a way that took away a LOT of ground clearence. He flattened the drivers side pipe so that it would fit under the transmission brace, and he put the clamps on upside down so that I lost even more ground clearence...

    yea the portland one is the only one that I know of also, I dunno if I will get over that way this summer or not. I don't really care about hp numbers anyway, if someone asks I'll just tell em that their guess is as good as mine =) -Chris

    Thanks again for all the kind words, I just got the flowmasters and dual exhaust put on, I'm going to need to take it down to the family garage and tweek it a little bit, the guy who put it on didn't understand what I wanted or something....     could one of you with the stock distributor please trace the tach wire from the distributor to the firewall, so that I will be able to find the one on my car. I have looked all over for it and can't seem to find it. I lost the wire after pulling, rebuilding, and then reinstalling my engine...

    I fixed the problem, and WOW! she makes a lot of noise with just headers on =) I discounected the computer from the dist/ and she fired right up. Thanks for all the help! -Chris

    well my uncle came over yesterday and said that the timing was on the money, but couldn't figure out why there wasn't any spark. I removed all of the smog stuff, so would the computer cause this to happen? I really need to get her running, I can't start working until I do (it's my only car)...

    ok we think we found the problem, the engines timing is off, so I'm going to pull the front apart again ::sigh:: I'm tooo anxious to hear this thing fire up with those open headers, I hate when things don't go as planned. Thanks for all the help guys! -Chris

    yea that's how it's set up, but the wire for the tach is MIA, we've checked the wire loom that the red one comes out of, which fits into the spot on the dist. labled "bat" the car turns over, and all the lights work so I have power, there just isn't any fire. would the tach wire being missing...

    I had two wires hooked up backwards, there were only two studs comming out of it and one had a thick ground comming from the firewall on it, and another wire, but there were two wires on the harness with a ring connector, so I swaped the one that I had connected, with the one that I had attached...

    when I tried to start my 81 up I found that it has no fire... all of the connectors that go to the distributor are hooked up, except for one, it is labeled "Tach" the wire has vanished, would this cause the car to not fire? where in the engine bay would I start looking for the wire, knowing...

    I was wondering what the two things were that are sticking out of the gooseneck on my 81. I've put a new intake manifold on, and have switched to headers, the carb is a holly 650 cfm, so the computer isn't hooked up to it. Do I need those two things sticking off of the gooseneck? also one...
