I have the one pictured on the left. It is great and quick on and off, only problem I have had is the post that contacts the switch was a little off one time and the inside light would not turn off until I fiddled with it a while.
As jmccloud said, remove the bottom cushion, then remove the four bolts attaching the seat to the car. You will have to disconnect the power connector if you have power seats. I think there are little plastic covers over the front bolts that are easy to remove. Pretty simple to do.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I have GY F1 GS D3's in 315-35/17 on A-mold ZR-1 offset on the rear of my '96. I recently installed the tires, replaced well worn Dunlop SP8000. The Dunlops did not rub, but the GY do. On moderate bumps in turns, or on moderate to heavy dips, they will rub...
The 'extra' wires under the console could be the auxillary power harness. My owners manual says there is a three wire harness under the console to be used to wire in a cell phone, CB radio, etc. One wire is ground, one is 12v constant, one is 12 switched.
Same with my car. I believe it has to do with positive cabin ventilation. There is always air circulating through the car, and it is more noticeable during the cold months. During the warmer months you usually have the window open, or the temp control is set to a cooler temp from the last...
door adjustment
I adjusted my driver's door myself. Open the hood, open the door just far enough to put a floor jack under it, with a block of wood between the door and the jack. Loosen the bolts on the bottom hinge where it attaches to the body about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Loosen the same bolts...
Sweeeeett!!
Is anyone making that body kit? I love the rear tail! I think the stock tail is too tame and this one looks way better than any "add-on" that I have seen. I like the headlights in the bumper too, but the chin spoiler is a little large for my tastes.
Darn! :hb
With the money I just spent on rear tires, and what I plan on spending to replace the water pump, opti-spark, and reseal the timing cover, my wife may begin to see this car a money pit. Then it will be real hard to convice her I need more money for mods!
Oh well, maybe I can...
I need some touch up paint for the blue stripe on my car and do not have the codes. It was painted by the previous owner and is the factory blue for the Grand Sport. I looked in the Tech Center here and could not find the number code to use at the dealer to order the touch up bottles. The...
My car has a smell of anti-freeze when I first turn on the heat. I have not had time to research to see if there is a leak inside. I hope it is not, it sounds like a major pain!
The touchup does look better. When I first saw the unmodified photo, I thought it looked like a Nissan 300ZX. How about a kit to put the headlights in the bumper like the Rick Mears/Shinoda kits? Are there any out there?
I plan on removing my intake manifold and replacing the leaking gaskets this weekend. I have looked it over and it is fairly straight forward project. My one question is, how do I disconnect the fuel lines at the manifold? It looks like it takes a special tool to disconnect the two lines...
I will be having a set put on the rear of my car this afternoon. I am currently running Dunlop 8000 (bald on the rear). Discount Tire had to order direct from Goodyear because they could not get them from any of their warehouses. Discount Tire was also my best price after tax, mounting, etc...
Thanks for the info.
I was quoted $130 after a $75 core at O'Reiley with a lifetime warranty, which is what I will probably go with unless I can find it less somewhere else.
What about plug wires, any recommended brands/type?
What is the quality and reliability of a replacement Opti from some of the parts houses like O'Reiley, Autozone, etc. They are more affordable and have lifetime warranties, but I don't want to be tearing it apart every year replacing it either.
I am planning on replacing the intake manifold gaskets and front timing cover gaskets soon on my LT4. Since the car has 70,xxx miles, I am also planning on replacing the water pump (I don't think it has ever been done). Since I don't have the money to replace the Opti-Spark, I am planning on...
When I purchased my 'Vette 9 months ago, I used 91 octane for about the first 2 months. With escalating gas prices, I decided to try mid-grade 89 octane. I have been running it since then without problems. I have considered trying 87 octane, but have not done so.
I do not have the same symtoms going into reverse, but I did have to replace my backup switch. My reverse lights did not work and after checking the bulbs, etc. I replaced the switch. From what I remember, I don't see how the switch could be causing your problems. It is a simple plunger style...
