    Historic License Plates/Registration

DS, I was planning on registering my 1973 Chevelle with QQ plates in NJ, i have all the paper work. I have seen many classic cars driving arround with QQ plates, i am sure nice sunday afternoon drives can be educational. There is no milage limits from the paper work i have. You have to go down...

    paint problems

Re: PAINT SHOP I have to agree. I also suffer from some over spray. If you dont like that place, try a auto detailing shop. If it is a well know place, they probably done 1000's of fancy cars and know what they are doing, and can work wonders, you be surprised. I was! John

    when to polish

From what I understand, and practice, is that polishing is a way to remove stracthes and imperfections. You cannot do that with normal wax. I usually go over a few spots with the polishing compound after a good wash. Then a nice coat of wax to protect the paint. Just my take on it. John

Rear window a little sticky raising

The window does not collapse or anything, just need some help going up and regular force is needed to close it down ago. As far as i know, it has been garaged by previous owners until me, since last Nov. Can one hot day really do that damage? I have had it just not go anywhere in the heat...

Rear window a little sticky raising

Hi all, The back window of my Corvette sometimes only gets up 3/4 of the way it should, sometimes goes slow, and sometime i have to help it up more than others. I have noticed it not going as well in the colder temps (like currently) as when warm in summer. Once up, the window does not fall...

    Corvette's Top Speed?

I got 123 mph one late night... I ran out of road by my house. I think i would get pretty nervous on public roads at about 150 mph. Thats my goal. Arround here streets are just to bumpy and unpreditable, potholes, etc to have any fun. MRANT212 = I also hit the 100's every time I go on the NJ...

    LT4 LT4 Equipped Vettes

To help demonstrate the rarity of BOTH our LT4's and ZR1's, I just want to give another auto example: there were approximately 8,500 DeLoreans produced over 2-3 years. After +20 years there are roughly 6,500 remaining.... I have only seen 4 EVER on the street, outside of car shows. :eek All be...

    "Corvette" brake calipers

Thats what I was afraid of. Of course, I want to avoid expensive if I can. Although, i wouldn't mind an upgrade to Z06 breaks. John

    "Corvette" brake calipers

Hi all LT4, GS and CE friends, I noticed that on many(if not all) GS's and CE's you guys have colored break calipers that say "Corvette" in white letters. I really like that. In fact, Vettelt193 has exactly what I am talking about as his avitar. Cool. I have looked in ecklers and mad, but can...

LT4 LT4 vs GS (mostly a discussion of brakes)

I feel the GS is more of a collector car, to be brought out on nice sunny summer sunday afternoons.... And to car shows. They are fewer, and specially made. I have never seen one on normal streets. Where as the LT4'd Corvettes are more daily driver cars. Normal paint, normal interior, etc. But...

    3000 mile oil change

Hi all. I was wondering who here always changes their oil every 3000 miles exactly? Or conversly, who waits for the "Change oil" light to go off before changing, be it 3500-4000 miles since last oil change. I know keeping up the oil changes in a performance engine like the Corvette is very...

    when to polish

You have to wait for the new paint to cure, otherwise it will get all stratched up. My vette was painted by previous owner just before i got it, and half-ass job by macco by the way and I went to wash it soon after i got it and it got it ALLLLLLLLL stratched up from the sponge, towels...

    Seat Belt "Cinch"

Nevermind, it works. I noticed that you have to puch it several times, to "rachet" down on your lap. I noticed that it did nothing for the shoulder part of the seat belt. That was what made me think it was not working. Is there a way to "lock" that, as that is the part of the seat belt i wanted...

    Seat Belt "Cinch"

I have a question about the seat belt cinch. I have read the manual and tried it out several time but i dont notice a difference. Is the belt supposed to "lock" in place holding you firmly to the seat, not strentching? Could the mechanism be broken is some way in my car? Does anyone else have...

    6 speed question

I usually just flip mine down to 4th, it is an easy move down after I remove the key, just all in one motion. I "knew" reverse is the best due to the fact it is the highest gear ratio. I feel any gear is safer than neutral. Plus, the parking break of course. John

    Seat Bezel

Mine were cracked too when i got my car. I ordered replacements from Ecklers. I just didnt tighten them down as much. I thought about getting longer screws, but these are doing well for now. John

    Radio/CD Player problems

My friend had a similar problem. He put one of those CD cleaner discs in, and the display cleared up and all CD's worked fine. Give that a try. John

    Roof removal tool

When I first got my Corvette, I couldn't find the roof tool either, I had to email the previous owner a few days later.... of course it was right there in the back of the console "hiding". You really can miss it if not looking for it. :p John
