    Rear-end update

The second is my old yokes on both sides of another used yoke that was laying around. The center yoke, which was pulled out of another car is considerably larger than my yokes. I barely got those things out in time!

    Rear-end update

Well, it's been 5 long weeks since I parked the 77 with the torn up side yokes. Mike (Stingray6974) has finally received most of the parts from Toms ( they forgot the inner bearings and seals) and has the entire unit torn apart. I'm posting the 3 pics that I've gotten from mike. The first is...

    Oil Pressure Sending Unit location

vmrod, Yeah, that bushing is pushed completely in. Any settling of the location will occur once the sway bar is completely in place. Russ

    Oil Pressure Sending Unit location

vmrod, Try this link http://www.docrebuild.com/dr-r-web/SUSP63E.PDF I'm not sure that I understand your question about the bushing. I don't see any bushings on my sway bar that are not pushed in 100%. Hopefully the link above will help out. Russ

Bob, You are doing some great write-ups and photo taking on your website! You should be very proud. Russ

vmrod, I finally looked at the washers on the rear shocks and they are NOT cupped. They didn't look original though. They looked like they came with the NAPA shocks. Just thought I'd let you know. Russ

    No hair on my legs!!!!

I would highly suggest NOT buying the preformed heat reflective material. It is good stuff, but you can buy the regular rolls for less money and cut them to fit perfectly. You will end up doing a much better job than the preformed because the preform doesn't cover the entire transmission...

vmrod, The free-flowing cat is a good solution. I don't know how restrictive they are though. Also, I would think that the T-connection would end up being a little less expensive. If you don't have to worry about emmisions I would say go without the cat. Por-15 is a rust proofing paint that...

    Oil Pressure Sending Unit location

vmrod, I've seen those side pipes before. A good alternative for the money. I'd be interested to see how you mount the H pipe (I assume it will be an H pipe since an X-pipe would be very difficult to mount) Bob, I've heard the same thing about the stock manifolds. Plenty of flow for...

    Gas Gauge Accuracy

Don't forget that the internal bladder on these tanks can actually shrink! At least, that's what I've been told :) Your tank may only hold 16-18 gallons now. Russ

Well vmrod, I have to apologize, I totally forgot to look at the washers last night. Instead I spent the night outside playing volleyball and drinking instead :) I will FOR SURE (if I don't forget again) look tonight! As for your side pipes, did you get side-pipe headers or are you doing...

    No hair on my legs!!!!

That's a great summation Bob! The only thing I'll add is the purpose of 2 valves: When only 1 valve is installed, hot water still fills the heater core through the lower hose. I didn't think it was possible but I checked with my valve in the upper hose closed, and the lower hose was hot all...

    No hair on my legs!!!!

cmegga, I think Chris is talking about a manual shut-off valve that most of us have installed in the heater hose going from the manifold to the heater core. There is a stock one but they only close when the a/c is turned on. If you are not getting any air blowing on you, I would check the...

    No hair on my legs!!!!

Here is the formula for no more engine heat: 1) Make sure factory heater cut-off is operational, or install heater bypass valve in both heater hoses 2) Remove interior carpets and seats 3) Seal off all firewall Grommets and holes 4) Seal off all floorpan or any other holes 5) Make sure all...

    Oil Pressure Sending Unit location

vmrod, You should definitely put in an X or H pipe. Also, you HAVE to fire the car up at least once before attaching all of your exhaust components (except of course headers or manifolds). :) That bumpety bump was one of the best things I ever heard out of my car! by the way, I think that...

    Parking brake pads

I was able to get mine from the local chevy dealer. Although, if you do some searching on-line you can get the standard pads for less than $50. The dealer wanted $89. Russ

    Heater problems

I'll be the first to jump in here. Try a search on the forum for heater or heater by-pass or heater cut-off. There are a bunch of posts about this very common problem. A lot of us have simply installed 2 bypass valves, one on each heater hose to bypass the heater in the hot months and open...

    What oil ??

Yes, when the oils break down they do tend to go to their original weight. If you have true synthetic oil in the car long enough for it to break down, even if you autocross in death valley, you have no business driving a corvette or any car for that matter :) Synthetic oils can last for 25,000...
