You sure can.... I'm running stock early C5 wheels paint black (255/17 front & 295/18 rear). The offset is not as much as the C4's so they don't come out to the edge of the wheel openings. But there are no clearance problems. The 295/18 in the rear fill the opening nicely IMHO..
My 96 LT4 Z51 came with 275's on all fours. Great set up. I up sized to 4-285's and loved it for auto-xing but hated it for everyday driving. 285's up front make the turning harder and wander alot as it pulls the car around in the groves/ruts in the road. I,ve recently up graded again to 255's...
If its not a F45, than the original tires where 4- 275's if it is be a Z51, if it came with
2-255 up front and 2-285 out back than it would be the FE1 base suspen. Thanks for the info! I'm still looking
Your system seems to be working fine. With ASR off you will get a lot of wheel spin and tire smoke with stock tires if ya dump the clutch, lanuch rpm should be around 1500-1800. ASR off is the perfered position for auto-Xing or drag racing.
I was 41 when I bought my first c4 (91 white Conv./Blue top) because I loved the looks and the go factor for the price, and still get 26-27 mpg. I bought my second C4 (96 yellow LT4) 2 years ago, I'm now 45 BTW, because I still think its a great body line and I love the power and sleeper effect...
Bad news is the VIN won't tell ya which RPO codes came on your car. All it tells your insurance agent is that its a coupe with a LS1 motor 345hp. Your car was number 10644 built of 33270, which was built around the end of Dec. or early Jan. contact the NCM and for a nomial fee ($45 ea.) they...
I agree with you... A LT4 Conv. is the ultimate C4. I sent my info into that site 2 yrs ago and it never got updated. Don't hold your breath. I've started my own registry and have collected 1200 VIN's since then. I love driving my LT4. If ya ever get up to the Detroit area, give me a shout!
Wow Paul, sounds like you have a rare car indeed. Did you know that they only made 41 CE conv. red int. LT4, F45
27 CE conv. red int. LT4, FE1
Factor in that there where only 429 hardtop conv. in 96 for ALL colors and that you have the EMT option. I would say you have a car that only 5 or 6...
it does seem strange that the regular prod. colors are more rare than the CE and even the GS. I have a yellow LT4 with grey int. and a Z51..... one of a kind!!!!
Hi CAC, I'm new to CAC and thought I'd throw in my .02 right off the bat. 91 was the first year of the saw blades stye wheel and was never offered as a chrome option from GM. That goes for the 89-90 style wheels "scav" have.
