    Governor spring changes...

Fully warm transmission... 5,375rpm 1-2 shift and 4,925rpm 2-3 shift. It was 82 degrees outside with 30" baro pressure. When the transmission is still cool, it will run up to about 5,600rpm for the 1-2. I have noticed there is a 200-300rpm difference between "warm" and "cool" for the...

    Air Restriction Indicator

Everybody off the range... we have a safety violation. It's pretty clear this thread has imploded in a flash fire from an ad hoc gasoline tub parts washer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Governor spring changes...

SVO- the why is simple: I am adjusting the WOT shift point to occur right after I hit max HP (325hp)... which is at 5,300rpm with the engine I have. 1982 Corvette Crossfire Injection with .465"IN / .488"EX Cam - YouTube Why mess with springs in the first place? I didn't want to be stuck with...

Wipers power OFF while driving in rain.....

Sounds like an issue with the wiper electronics. I think you have a short. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Air Restriction Indicator

That's kinda neat. I saw this yesterday- that's pretty creative. Not a mod that I would do- but I get it if you live in a dusty area. :eek Okay... toobroke... are you serious here??? I completely missed that part- the submerging in gasoline aspect. That's like... what, 5 gallons or so? That...

    Governor spring changes...

Red spring- blue spring... Old spring- new spring. Dr Seuss... or setting a 700R4 governor? :chuckle With the 2.87, I had the GM purple and a B&M orange spring and that gave me a 1-2 shift at 5,450rpm. When I upgraded to the 3.73, the 1-2 shift was probably over 5,800rpm - way too high...

Question: Will the Edelbrock Pro Fo XT fit under an 84 Hood?

Tony- I have sectioned hard line plenty of times. I would see no reason you couldn't use AN fittings. I assume you have a flaring kit. :) If not, you can find them reasonably priced and a good one will last forever. Just make sure you use the right hose, it has the right pressure rating, and...

Doing Your Own Front End Alignment

LLC5- it's hard to offend me. No offense taken. I see a lot of posts. Unless there is clearly ad hominem behavior... what someone posts either stands or falls with credibility. I would advise everyone to debate the merits and substance of a post and not the poster himself. Otherwise you are...

Doing Your Own Front End Alignment

Toobroke... Have you thought about documenting this in the form of a picture based step by step tutorial? Or even a YouTube narrative video? Lots of discussion around how to align a front end, but pictures are worth a thousand words. There used to be a time when folks didn't have all the...

TH700R4's And Dana 44 Rear Ends

For what it's worth, I've never heard of anyone using a standard pipe thread on the 44. That's a bad idea for the reasons you point out if it is metric. The 44 wasn't a bad rear end either.

    Moving to 3.73 gears

I went out and logged the full throttle acceleration yesterday with a datalog. :D 0-60 mph.... in 5.2 seconds! :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek I am very happy with that old Vette! I will need to adjust the governor. 5,800 rpm is a bit high for the 1-2 shift. So, not sure if I will...

17" Wheel Selection Is Thin These Days

SVO- interesting that you talk about the datedness of the C3. I have 325hp / 373lbs-ft tq with a 700R4 and a 3.73 rear end. That's pretty good for a N/A small block C3. That's nothing compared to what you get out of a C6 or C7. But then again, I'm not looking to outcompete with a C6 or C7...

question about some bubbles on transmission dipstick

If the tranny is full and if it shifts and operates properly- you are fine. I would expect your bubbles are the result of running it hard and or some sloshing around the tube. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

17" Wheel Selection Is Thin These Days

I wish Year One would release a 17" version of the aluminum wheel. The Rally wheels in 17" are really nice, but a 17" aluminum would be great. I'm sure someone would run those on a Camaro too, I'd think it might be viable for Year One. But I guess the market is too thin for those. :( Anyway, it...

    Moving to 3.73 gears

I completed a datalog yesterday. It's the 2,000rpm area at 30-45 KPAs under decel / coast where it runs a little lean. I'm going to add a little fuel in those areas and it should all be fine. I'll post more once I get another session in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Moving to 3.73 gears

Thanks Peter! First isn't too terribly short. I had already reset the governor to shift at 5450rpm, so it shifts about 500rpm higher than stock anyways. Cruise tune looks great. :) AE is spot on. I think I might need to adjust the fueling in decel mode between 2k and 2,500 rpm. When I let...

    Moving to 3.73 gears

I am happy so far! It just rolls off the idle and moves effortlessly through the gears. It's a lot more responsive. I am going to let it break in, but so far... it's a lot quicker through the gears and with less throttle. It just goes now! I think I will need to adjust the tune a little. I...

    Confused Corvette

SVO- no problem. :thumb People will routinely post "hey look at this Vette" links not because they are trying to sell something for someone but rather for either the education or feedback on what's going on with a car. I think you actually succeeded in your post. I think your investigative...

what is shape and dimensions of exhaust ports on stock heads 81 350

Quick sidebar... Not exactly on the topic, but may be of interest... since we are talking about heads. If you wanted to see what the spark map looked like for either an 81 or 82, look up the SA table for the 85 and 86 iron head Vettes. This is worthy to share because no one seems to have a...
