    Z51 Option

A lot closer to the Hoosier shod C5's in my group...or was it the shorter, faster courses :eyerole

    Z51 Option

Yes it did add front stiffness and promoted understeer but also took away a greater propensity for oversteer. I don't know if the combination of mods: lowered on stock bolts, non-R rated Kumho MXs on stock C5 wheels plus the fatter front sway bar just made it "feel" better all the way around but...

    Z51 Option

I added a C6 Z51 front sway bar to my F45 C5 and was very happy with the results especially on an autocross course. I also have a C6 F55 and wonder if adding the C6 Z51 sway bars would also be a beneficial mod (better handling).;shrug

    c6 shifter in c5?

I thought I've seen positive comments regarding the conversion of the C6 shifter to the C5...or maybe its the C6 Z06 shifter. Of course the comments are in that OTHER forum so its all relative :D Hib...is there much difference if any between the C6 and C6 Z06 shifters?

    Gas Mileage

Don't forget that usually for a long trip even when driving "legal" speed you are also probably near or over the cargo weight rating for the vette. During my last long trip I figure between my wife and I, our two Dachshunds, travel kennel, cooler, lugguage for 10-days and various odds and ends...

Bra's to wear or not to wear???

Bought a black GM bra and used it for two road trips in our C6. Both times flapping corner caused paint damage but otherwise probably protected more than hurt. Figure at $100 for the bra then $50 per trip for some protection. Touch up paint took care of paint damage. Anyone want the bra? Pick it...

    head lamp opening/closing problem

The C6 assembly would probably not fit in the C5 headlight openings plus it would not have the correct angle. There are vendors out there that specifically sell replacement assemblies for C5s which are not retractable but could be an expensive mod and I haven't seen one that I like yet.

Regular C5s going to SCCA Solo A-Stock

SCCA Solo II planning to separate "regular" C5's from C5 Z06's. Z06s to remain in SS while C5s will be slotted into A-Stock. This may get me back into SCCA since I did not relish running my "stock" C5 coupe against Z06's. Supposedly FRCs will also go to AS.

News: Trip map 48 state visit with 30 year + owners

Don't know if you have a taste for California wine; to be more specific from the Napa Valley. I could perhaps put together a valley cruise for you including visiting and maybe meeting Mario Andretti at his winery (and tasting some of his wine). Let me know if you are interested and I'll also...

    What's Up With This???

A northern CA dealer had a 2008 Z06 listed today for $15k off MSRP so there are even new '08s out there. Too bad I'm not in any position to take advantage of the deep discounts for new inventory on dealer lots.

    Kumho Tires

Have the Kumho MXs as autocross/summer tires and Kumho ASXs on another set of wheels for the wet season. As JRose will attest they also cost about half of what Goodyear GS-D3s or EMTs cost which leaves plenty $$ left over for the :beer

Question: What are you asking Santa to bring for your Corvette this Christmas??

Figure I'll need new brakes sometime next year with 46K miles on my '01. Yes I still have the original brakes and visually looks like I have about 35% left on the pads. Not bad brake life for a coupe which is autocrossed and driven fairly aggressively on the street. Looking at replacing with...

Thinking about some new C5 Wheels, looking at these two styles...

I kinda like the chrome Z06 but it depends also on the weight. My chrome Z06 repro wheels with stock Z06 sized tires are 25lbs each heavier than my OEM polished thin spokes with stock C5 tires. That's a lot of unsprung weight to spin and carry. I have my autocross tires on the OEM thin spokes...

    The Right Polish

Check out Zaino at this zainobros.com I highly recommend the whole process but once you've done the claybar you may not need to do so again for quite some time. I use Zaino on all my vehicles (2 vettes, Nissan daily driver and Silverado pickup) and always get compliments on all four:D
