No 4-legged ride alongs. Did take one newbie for a ride though. Too bad he went slower afterwards.
Took the doxies in the C6 to Phoenix and the Grand Canyon in March and they had their first experience with snow. Fortunately no snow on the roads.:upthumbs
I have lowered my 2001 with the F45 with the stock bolts. 3/4 inch front and 1/2 inch rear. Just right for me. And no issues with the F45 (about six months now since lowered). Go for it. :cool
We did not renew the XM for our 2007. Last March, however, on our week long road trip I tuned in a XM station and had it all week long. Perhaps a trial period to suck you in? Enjoyed the free time but didn't listen to it again once we got home.
I have the F45 on my 2001 C5 and the F55 on my 2007 C6. The F45 has 3-settings while F55 has two (Tour and Sport). Took the C6 on the week long road trip and in most instances kept it in Tour (and the A6 tranny on Sport). The C6 was loaded with two adults, our 2 dachshounds and the their travel...
Have a 2001 C5 M6 and got the wife a 2007 C6 A6. Now have best of both worlds since I get to drive both. Like the 400hp in the C6 and ability to shift or not shift. But my Torch Red C5 looks so much better than the Machine Silver C6.:D
Great idea, but...even if you changed out your wheels to accomodate these tires have you priced them ($400++)? I love them on my C6 compared to the runflats that came with my C5. I like the GS-D3s for the C5. A little cheaper would be the Kumho SPTs or the MXs.
Love the GS-D3s but unfortunately dusted the rears after only 15k miles. Doesn't help that I autocrossed on them either. Fronts look good for another 10k or so. Just about to replace the rears when a friend offered me Z06 repro chrome wheels with almost new Kumho (SPs front, MXs rear) tires on...
I run the Kumho MX tires because a friend was selling his z06 repros with almost new Kumhos for $600. My Gy GS-D3s were all worn out and would have cost over $1200 to replace.:)
clip on wheel weights
Had same problem with right rear for awhile until I had the clip-on wheel weights removed and replaced with stick on weights. It was leaking right at the wheel weight. Don't remember if the OEM wheel weights were clip-on or stick on but when I replaced the run flats with...
Sorry no pics but just lowered on stock bolts last weekend. I have the F45 suspension on my 2001 so I was a little worried what would happen. SOTP it feels just a little bit firmer on all three settings (tour, sport, performance). Can't tell any improvement in handling since the roads were still...
Split time with wife's C6
Enjoying the best of both worlds. My 6sp manual C5 and the wife's 6sp-auto C6. Driving the C6 more as a "go somewhere" car. The C5 however enjoys life as "let's go for a drive" car. C6 has been great in S.F. Bay Area traffic (even during weekends). Holiday visitations...
Work for a bank in a small branch. Way past the age and time to race professionally plus autocrossing is one thing were focus and attention is counted in seconds. Professional sports car racing requires that focus and attention in hours.
