I was a kid and had to follow the family (returned to the Philippines).

So...how many of us take our Vetts out if it is raining?

Hi hoosier, I used to run SCCA Solo II and some of the other local club events. Up to 30-40 events a year. Also ran the Solo II National Champioships from 1978 till 1986 and that was during my poor days when trailering or even driving the street car/race car to the event from California to...

So...how many of us take our Vetts out if it is raining?

No the GS-D3s are not runflats. Ran first run group today. While it wasn't raining and the sun was out, the course surface was still damp and very slick. So slick that I even tried taking off in 2nd gear since I was getting nothing but wheelspin in first. Event organizer gave the first group one...

So...how many of us take our Vetts out if it is raining?

Going to last autocross of the year tomorrow (Saturday) after it rained most of the day here. May get rained on tomorrow. I get to test out the Goodyear GS-D3s in the wet and the windhshield wipers:)

How much did you pay for your Corvette

Bought my Torch Red 2001 used in Sept '01 the weekend after 9/11. One year lease return, 17k miles Fully loaded 6-speed with12-disk changer, HUD, both tops, memory/power seats, F45 suspension for $39,000. "My" vette has 36k miles now. Bought a 2007 Machine Silver in June, 3LT packages, F55...

How much did you pay for your Corvette

With all the hoopla with the LS3 2008 you can get new 2007s with 1LT packages for under $40k. SF, CA dealer has new '07 with Z51 package under $42K. I can imagine used 2005s can be had for low 30's.

DEXCOOL, AM I DUE FOR A CHANGE??

About 31k miles but over 5-years old. Mine didn't look too bad either but changed it anyway.:D

C&D Magazine, Nov. 07: Dempster Corvette II

Great feature article. Too bad they could't drive fast - 25-40 mph due to the nature of the roads. At least they had the 4400 mile roundtrip between Alaska and Michigan although having that rack on top of the vette would be pretty hard to explain. Plus NO flats!!!!!!!!!!!

    ?

You want mods? Try the other forum - whole bunch of modaholics over there. Totally stock cars are almost frowned upon "over there". Totally adicted to the big brown truck bringing the greatest, latest, bolt-on.:rotfl

    CORVETTE UDDERS, anyone have pictures?

Driver's side easy to see and get to. I thought the passenger side udder was behind the battery and required the battery to be removed to get to.

    Stupid Question

Same here in the great Republik of Kalifornia. For an average price of 20-cents more per gallon a typical 15 gallon fill up would cost $3 more. How much do you drive your vette? Maybe as a daily driver racking up lots of miles the extra $3 per fillup may drive you broke. For my weekender - with...

    C5 or C4?????

I went from a '94 to an '01. Never wanted to take long trips in the C4 and never wanted to go out to dinner either since it was difficult to get back in with a full belly (yes I know my belly looks full before or after dinner). Have taken the C5 on long trips including the cruisefest this year...

Corvette C6-R program could be a victim of its own success

What would they need to do to the C6-R to qualify it was a GT2? I would imagine even smaller air intakes, more weight, less tire?

    Fuel gauge question

You should search for more posts on this and other forums regarding this problem. A common "fix" has been using a fuel additive like Chevron's Techron Concentrate and Fuel Injector Cleaner available at most automotive stores. Also only use a "top tier" gasoline. Again Chevron would be a good...

    C5 Noise Reduction

Hopefully you have already ditched the Goodyear runflats. That made a big difference to me for noise reduction. BTW other brand runflats may be quieter.

    Creaky coupe roof -any fix?

Don't really know what the shrink tubing ultimately does. It makes a tighter fit for sure and I bet as the tubing wears through it helps "lubricate" the pins. Since I just got the C6 and just installed the shrink tubing a couple of weeks ago I haven't had much time to really figure it all out...

    Air Intake Box

On the C5s, the Z06 air box had a larger intake hole; almost twice the size of the of the regular C5. One popular mod is to cut an even bigger hole; pretty much cut away the flat portion of the air box cover which is probably half the front part of the box. On the regular C5 I installed a K&N...

    C6 top still makes noise

One fix for the popping is to wrap the four pins on the targa top with shrink tubing. So far so good for mine. It may return once the shrink tubing gets worn out.

So...how many of us take our Vetts out if it is raining?

I don't seek it out but don't try to avoid rain either. The Goodyear GS-D3s are GREAT in the rain.
