Nelson,
It MUST be an 85-up pump. The 84 is rated for a lower pressure carb system and is at its max design specs for CFI at WOT...and nothing ever works well at max for long!
Its a fairly str8 forward install and has minimal instructions. So simple I didnt even think to take pictures.
No...
Ummm...Perhaps I was unclear: I'll try again
The Porsche Targa pictured is a 911...the 928 reference was to the recessed lettering Only and since it NEVER had a targa panel thats obviously not an influence. .
The Targa 911 was introduced in 1967 while the 308 wasnt around until 1975 although...
Paul,
I suppose you could consider the Headlight switch an "Headlight Opening Actuator"...but thats IT on the 85. There is NO computer module.
This circuit diagram is for an 84 but its pretty much the same from 84-87 except for when the fog lights go on...but you'll get the idea...
Something VERY IMPORTANT to consider:
Many kits glue on and cover the screws to take off the dash apart in the future!
Make sure you buy one that can be removed when necessary to service the car! I've had mine on for 10 years and remove it at least 2x's a year so far to fix components or do...
If you want quite definitely avoid the Borla! Very loud but I like it since it hides the usual rattles.
I prefer upgrading to a stainless Y pipe but I havent seen any with a cross over pipe that would be best for balance. Many seem to have the 86 and later round pipe catalytic convertor...
I always bought Escort products but then I bought the Valentine! Now every car has one with a remote display. The remote display is handy since you can hide the actual detector very well. Everyone knows cops hate to see detectors and naturally ASSume its because you always speed. In many cases...
Its funny how you kinda forget things.
GM really was trying to make the 84 Vette seem european werent they?
I was watching tv where they were restoring a 1978 Porsche 928 and remembered that not only did GM steal the traditional Porsche font but even recessed the letters on the front Vette...
Yup, which also in Polish is the word for the kerchief (ala "doo rag") a grandmother is likely to wear on her head....I dont know which came first the kerchief or the grandmother term:chuckle
And a Balabushka is a pool cue named for the master craftsman George Balabushka.
Too bad you missed my previous warnings on just about every Vette forum when someone asks about new seats....
THERE is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO SOFTEN THEM UP! Unless maybe you hire some 350 lb goon to drive your car.... even then the leather is likely to wear first! I've got several thousand...
I didnt make any adjustments yet. I understand it runs a little better with 15 psi but I left the stock adjustments and it certainly made a difference at WOT anyway so I'm happy.
I'd buy some new extra fuel hose while waiting for the kit to come since its likely original. The kit has one short...
Hi Brett,
What size are they? 8.5 or a mix w/9.5?
Also, are they stamped as made by Enkei or Modern?
Any idea what shipping would be to PA?
Thanks
Christian
Many 84 owners also complained that the edge cracks from the corner where the glass edge closes in a vertical line. Mine does ;-(
GM issued a TSB regarding removing and strenghtening the rear quarter so it doesnt keep cracking.
I just looked for it but ever since we moved I have problems...
I found that when the contacts on my switch corroded it had a mind of its own! I cleaned it and teh connector with electronics cleaner then used some dialectic grease and it worked for many months. However, I suspect that some corrosion had already made its way inside the switch where I...
It may have broken partially off the trunnion on the back of the glass if it was fine before.
The design has always vibrated slightly especially on my 84 z51 due to rough ride. A "Mr Goodwrench" friend of mine told me that their SOP on cars under warranty was to stick a piece of cardboard...
Regarding the wet door carpets: I added this originally to keep the sills clean and it stopped the problem.
Corvette Door Seals, Lower Edge Auxiliary, 1984-1996
You'd think that it shouldnt do much since the door weatherstrip SHOULD prevent water from soaking the carpet anyway....but it...
The panels look GREAT so far!!! VERY inspiring!:thumb
As for my chrome window switches and door lockrod covers.....I just delved into the GM parts bin. Even pepboys sells the them...plastic chrome. I need to upload some pics but I also found brushed aluminium radio knobs I also used as a...
Thats funny where they started sticking stuff in later vettes when they ran out of room! I guess they did that when they redesigned the dash? (84-89 is "normal" and is in dash)
I rememebr someone else mentioning theirs leaked in another thread (maybe another site?) in the EXACT same spot as...
