    Clunking sound

My EB isn't working. That is on the list. It won't pull up.

    Clunking sound

I am trying to locate a good Crovette mechanic in the SE Minn / SW Wisc area. I would like an expert to have a listen to it. Anyone have someone they could recommend?

    Air cleaner question

So, bottom line, in your opinion, is to go with the K&N?

    Air cleaner question

    Makes sense.

    Air cleaner question

When I took it to the drag strip last summer, I got much lower times when I removed the air cleaner. So I was thinking that the "open" K&N might be the ticket. Then I noticed that the factory "ram air", if you can call it that, was missing on mine. I wonder what effect it would have to buy the...

    Clunking sound

I am still having a 'clunking' sound coming from the back of the Vette. When I first got it, the sound was there all the time. I replaced the rear calipers (less than 1,000 miles ago) and it went away. Now, it comes back, but only after I have been driving for a while. Maybe an hour or more...

    Air cleaner question

I did some searching and found a lot of discussion. I didn't find too many about C3s, but a lot none the less. Evidently the jury is still out.

    Air cleaner question

My 78 (L48) has the air cleaner but does not have the tube and nozzle at the radiator. Which do you think is the better way to go? 1. Buy a new hose and radiator funnel 2. Buy a new K&N set up which has the open sides. I am looking for a little more oomph to my acceleration.

    And... <gasp>... a trunk

    Traitor....

It's a 64 Galxie 500 XL. Bucket seats, 390. A real 'lead sled'. Wife's uncle has been sitting on it. Pretty cherry shape. And, it has a back seat for the grandkids :-)

    Traitor....

BTW... it is NOT a apce car. It is an SA model with the L-48 Automatic. Turned 15.3 at the strip.

    Traitor....

It looks like I may be getting rid of my '78. The car that I wanted to buy , before the Vette, is back on the market. I need your estemmed opinion on a couple things. 1. Price - I paid $9500 for it last Spring. It has 66,000 miles on it. It pulled to the right when I got it. I figured it...

    Seat Restoration

I just had Flynn's in LaCrosse, WI do mine. They did an excellent job. The frames were really bent up. They straightened and reinforced them. Cost $1100.00, but they had a lot of welding to do.

    Found: Excellent C3 Mechanic!

I wish I could find someone in SE Minnesota like that.

    Draggin sound(?)

That sounds like an easy enought fix. I will do that first and report back.

    Draggin sound(?)

There is no "pulsation" per se. Not like a warped rotor or ABS. It's more of a 'sound' of something binding. Once I get rolling it goes away, just like a sticky caliper finally breaking loose. Maybe I need to change the front calipers. The noise sounds like it comes from the back, but that can...

    Draggin sound(?)

Actually, I can feel it start "grabbing" when I start stopping. I know, then, that I will get the sensation when I leave. Straight or not has not bearing on it.

    Draggin sound(?)

It's like it grabs and then releases and then grabs. I envision a wet brake pad sticking to the rotor.

    Draggin sound(?)

That's an interesting thought. I replaced the steel lines when I replaced the calipers. I didn't replace the rubber lines, though. Hmmm....

    Draggin sound(?)

I wish I knew of a good Vette mechanic within shouting distance of SE Minnesota. Looks like I might have to take it up to the Chevy dealer and hope the vo-tech mechanic can read the assembly manual. Sorry, that was mean. The local dealership did spend the last year doing a frame-off resto of a...
