    Gymkhana suspension

Greetings all from the great white north...:w I sent in to GM and got a copy of the original BOS on my '78. I was looking over the options it had and noticed that it came with the Gymkhana option. :) I assume that is a good thing. Are there things I need to be aware of before I do any...

    Vicarious Vette

Well, here it is. Minnesota. Late January. Colder than a well digger's destination. The Vette is in hibernation. The seats are at the upholsterer's shop getting a new lease on life. The battery is in the basement. My cabin fever is beginning to stir. I need to "wrap my ass in fiberglass" I...

78 auto trans shift knob removal

I used a strap wrench to unscrew the knob on my '79. I also, was replacing the boot. I used self tapping screws to secure it. The hardest thing I found was stretching it to fit the console. It was not very cooperative.

    Restoring 79

Man, what an opportunity! If you could just take a sh*tload of pictures during the restoration, guys like me, who don't have the huevos to tackle it blind, might get some courage. I have seen a few "frame off" restos on C1 and C2 Vettes, but never a '79. I own a '78 so I am very curious and...

GTech Horsepower rating and 1/4 mile, 0-60 times from my 75 this weekend.

I ran my '78 (185hp) at the strip this past summer. I managed a 15.3 with the air cleaner off. I would like to put on a "true" dual exhaust and better air cleaner next summer. That should get me into the very high 14s. In the meantime I will be monitoring discussions such as this.

1976 Pulls to the right very hard.

I had the same problem on my '78. I thought I had a sticking brake caliper or an alignment problem. I took it in for an alignment. Turns out the thing had been in a wreck and the right side of the frame was pushed back a few inches. After the frame was straightened it tracked true. Go figure.

Poll: Who Did You Buy Your current C3 From?

I sold my Harley and my MG Midget in an affort to "simplify" my life. That lasted about a week. I was sitting in a local drive in. I mentioned my feeling of loss. The owner (my brother-in-law's brother) said that he was going to sell his '78 Vette. I took it for a drive. It pulled a lot to the...

First Vette (78) / Storyline and currect needs

I, too, have a '78. Bought it on a 'spur of the moment' thing last summer. I had just sold my Harley and my MG Midget in an effort to "simplify" my life. I had to replace both rear calipers. Looks like the fronts will need doing next spring. I took it in for a front end alignment and found out...

    Reverse lock out

My '78 has an automatic. The shift lever has a wooden knob that moves up and down. I assume it is supposed to be a reverse lockout. If it is... it doesn't. When I took it to the drag strip, I was trying to manually shift it and almost threw it into reverse at over 50 mph! Not a good thing. I...

    Need advice on winter storage.

I, too, live in Minnesota. I am looking at putting the Imposter to rest on Nov 1. I plan on filling the tank and using Sta-Bil. I will remove the battery and bring it home to a warm basement where it will be placed on a couple 2x4s and trickle charged every couple months. I also plan on removing...
