Just the glass is cracked at the corners. The guy I bought it from (2nd owner) thought that maybe someone pressed down too hard when putting them in. I am considering the "re-glassing" I saw somewhere for $369 ea, rather than the $1,000+ ea to replace them.

The car is in fairly good shape. It needs little stuff. First off a front end alignment. The T-Tops are cracked, but do not leak. I am missing part of the T-Top securing strap. It has an after market radio in it. The clock doesn't work. As I said, little things. The body is in really good shape...

I have checked the VIN. It definitelyh is NOT a Pace Car.

After I posted it, I saw a paint scheme number. So, I must assume that the only difference between a "vanilla" 78 and a "Silver Anniversary" 78 is the paint scheme?

Since all 78s wear the 25th Anniversary badging, how would you tell an Anniversary Vette for a plain '78? Particularly if it has been repainted? I can't see anything in then VIN scheme that would denote that.

Different crank and pistons assy to increase the length of the stroke; ergo; more cubic inches, more horse power. That is the simplified answer.

I know that is a problem. However, the further I get from my old toys, the harder it will be to convince the boss that we need a replacement.

It's not that I am specifically looking for a 'Vette. I just happen to know the guy and he is trying to sell it to me. I am looking for a "summer car", but my options are open. With my MG Midget and Harley both being sold last month, there is a psychological hole in my garage. :-)
