Help! 94 stock corvette starts and runs well cold, after 20 or so miles it starts to cut out then stalls

Sounds like an excellent idea...maybe change the fuel filter as well and get that all out of the equation. I know I changed mine around 50K just because.

Thanks, it's a nice thing to have for the car.

weird, shuts off and restarts. really need help with this.

Wow....you mentioned the car dying and then running again on it's own. I just battled my truck problem which took me months to diagnose. It did the same thing, no codes, graphs with autotap were all normal then, bang, it would shut down then, it would just start going again. All the graphs came...

    Window Switch

I would guess the next best place to look is where the wires go through the door or the connections at the motor. I believe there is a video on youtube showing how to take off the door panel if you have too.

    Window Switch

Hey David, Mine is a 93, I don't know how much difference there is. Mine came completely apart and was able to clean it up and it works fine. Do yourself a favor and just examine it well. I used a glass to make sure it could be disassembled. I've done this a few years ago now so I can't...

    1984 C4 Wont Start

I would post a little more information. Battery 11 volts + or - isn't acceptable. Security light on could be an indicator of battery failure. Again, more information would help.

    Question: 1985 Corvette

Getting back to ronnov, that's what the temps run on my C4 as well, 228 then off at 217. The temps do fall rather quickly when the aux fan comes on. If yours does not I would consider possibly the radiator has some blockage either external or internal. I once had an overheating problem due to...

    Climate Control Locks Up

I know the 93 is a little earlier version but mine would lock up as well and the buttons just wouldn't work. This probably happened when the car was about 7 or 8 years old. Anyway, I took the controller out of the car and took it apart on the bench. Cleaned the contact area (buttons making...

    Tires

Well thanks, I looked on tire rack and they have them for the front not the rear....think it would be okay to put different tires on the rear? I don't race, maybe get on the car once in a while....rarely do 170mph...hover around the 140 mark every so often but not all the time. I didn't know if...

    Tires

Hello all, Going to need tires again. I know the tire situation changes all the time. I think I have Firestone Z's on my car which is only the second set on the car since it was new (93). I remember 15 years ago when the tire were put on what a difference it made. The Goodyear's I never did...

    Question: passive keyless entry system

Same here on the PKE remote, had them for as old as the car is. I just now after many years replacing the batteries for the third time in all those years. Maybe it's just the way there handled or possibly yours are used a lot more. Have you ever taken them apart and look at it with a glass...

    Question: radiator hose

One tip might help. I couldn't find the small hose preformed on top. one of the auto stores, I forget which one, had a small stainless spring like cage that allowed you to bend the hose that comes close to the belt. Looks good, works well. Even with that it's there is not much clearance.

    Help! courtesy lights

Thanks for the link on utube. It's great to be able to watch how it's done, makes it so easy. If a picture is worth a thousand words a video must be worth a million. I just need to remember to go there when I need to do something. :thumb

    Help! c4 emissions state inspection

What really puzzles me is the fact the state worker who sees thousands and thousands of cars couldn't tell you that. "Never heard of it before" ??? Guess they never had a vette come in with the traction control on? :confused Or any other car with it for that matter.

POLL: Chrome, Silver or Black ZR1 rims on a White 92 coupe? Any pics?

I think these cars would make any rim look good. I like the sawblades myself but, it's a matter of preference. They all look great!

Question: Can the Under-hood Lights be Temporarily Disconnected?

I probably unplugged mine quite a few years back. I forgot I had them, really look great with the hoods open but I think there rather useless for other then glancing under the hood at night. I do like the fact they have a harness with a switch so no wire has to altered. I'll have to look that up....
